[Nangong Yu cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero: Angels of Delusion Styling Log

Today I had a photoshoot in this Angels of Delusion look, cosplaying the character Nangong Yu. The overall aesthetic balances sweet and cool, with a color palette revolving around black, pink, and white to establish rich visual layers. The wig was specially trimmed into a short cut with blunt bangs, featuring black-and-pink paneled gradient coloring toward the tips; the inner pink layer provides striking vibrancy, while the outer black layer anchors the visual weight. This black-and-pink clash makes a powerful statement on camera. To preserve its airy volume, I used plenty of styling products and invested substantial prep time trimming, ensuring the bangs were straight without looking rigid. Cosmetically, the red contact lenses act as the facial focal point, enlarging the eyes while injecting an aura of mystique. To fit the character's 2D anime design, I drew exaggerated lower false lashes along the lower lids for distinct character recognition. Darker eyeshadow sculpted the contours, paired with an orange-red lip while keeping the complexion clean without excessive glitter. The base makeup leaned matte for a sophisticated finish on camera.

For the costume, the top features a white turn-down collar accented by red-and-black plaid patterning, complemented by a black cat-shaped bow tie at the chest and a pale blue ribbon knot for a charming color-blocked accent. The black choker around the neck and red ruffled frills at the shoulders are exquisite accents; because the vest fabric is form-fitting, smoothing out gathers before takes was essential. The red-and-black plaid elements of the lower half are equally distinct, echoed by black arm sleeves striped in red and black. During shooting, the studio lights tended to wash out makeup, necessitating frequent touch-ups to ensure the eye makeup didn't smudge. Since the Angels of Delusion concept is so spirited, I adopted more dynamic body language, allowing the photographer to capture plenty of kinetic moments. Despite having numerous design elements, the ensemble never looks cluttered. Before every cosplay shoot, I dedicate time to studying character personalities and sartorial nuances, handling every step meticulously from wig trimming to accessory matching. Today's shoot was seamless, with raw frames boasting wonderful lighting and shadows. I might make subtle tweaks to skin tones and contrast later, but I'm already thrilled with the current outcome—especially how the headpieces look across various angles, where the pink ribbon bow pops against the black hair. In posing, I stayed faithful to the character's temperament, avoiding forced poses in favor of natural, spontaneous gestures to keep the imagery lively. Executing this style truly tests your command over garment details—such as collar placement and sleeve fit—demanding continuous micro-adjustments between takes. Great care was poured into the color synergy of this Angels of Delusion styling today; the stark black-and-pink contrast balanced by crisp white transitions creates depth without jarring dissonance.
