When I first received this set of Convention photos, I was immediately captivated by the texture of the light and shadow. This shoot was chosen in a corner of the convention hall, with blankets spread on the ground and surrounded by smooth mirrored flooring. The photographer is exceptionally skilled at catching light positions, utilizing ambient environmental light paired with a touch of fill light to give the frame a remarkably translucent yet spatially expansive feel. Since these were Convention photos taken under a tight schedule, the final output far exceeded my expectations.

Let's talk about the styling preparation first. The white, green, and gold color scheme of this costume boasts rich layering; to faithfully capture the character's aura, I scrutinized countless details in the hair and makeup. The wig features yellow-green gradient hair ends that required extensive trimming and styling—especially the gradient sections on both sides, which needed to be blown out with a light, slightly curled arc to avoid looking rigid. The Elf ears are handmade, with the wearing angle repeatedly adjusted to ensure they wouldn't break the illusion under omnidirectional shooting. The makeup softened heavy eyeshadow in favor of emphasizing clear, luminous eyes and a natural cheek flush, perfectly aligning with that tranquil yet mischievous vibe.

One of the highlights this time was the floor reflection, which opened up more possibilities for composition. In the first photo, I'm lying sideways on the ground with my body weight entirely supported by my elbows; my legs stretch out within the frame while my insteps remain pointed to elongate overall visual proportions. To capture a clear reflection and a natural bodily posture, I repeatedly adjusted my position on the floor over a dozen times, leaving my arms sore, but as long as the light caught the hair strands just right, every bit of effort was worth it. Because stepping directly on the hard floor makes the feet look stiff, I also meticulously arranged the edges of the leg covers to keep the frame clean.

I especially love the posture in the second photo, resting my chin in my hands with my legs kicked up backward. This pose looks deceptively simple, but in reality, your core must stay engaged while your calves maintain an upward arc to project that lively, adorable state. The photographer utilized a high-angle overhead shot paired with a wide aperture to blur the background lights into circular bokeh, making the entire composition immensely dreamlike. Photos three and four feature seated and kneeling postures, where hand gestures demanded delicate execution. Extending an open palm requires precise fingertip angles and wrist bends that match the character's vibe of pondering or touching some unseen power, with the gaze accurately tracking the direction of the fingertips.

Convention photos are often constrained by environment and time, but this photographer excelled at candid captures. Amid alternating natural light and environmental illumination, I tried my best to maintain continuity in my state, refusing to slack off despite the venue's hustle and bustle. In post-processing, we avoided exaggerated color grading, focusing instead on restoring the cool-toned texture of the scene, slightly brightening shadow details, preserving the patterns on the clothes and the luster of the metallic accessories, as well as the soft tactile feel of the plush blanket. The shooting process was genuinely exhausting, but the moment I saw the raw photos, all fatigue vanished instantly. This session not only tested physical expression unlike anything before, but also taught me how to utilize ground reflections to elevate the imagery—making it a deeply fulfilling photography experience.
