[Nahida Cosplay] Genshin Impact Dendro Archon Maid Convention Photos Share

Today, I want to share a detailed recap of the photoshoot for this little Dendro Archon maid set. Before deciding on this look, I spent a long time brainstorming how to blend Nahida's inherent spirited liveliness with the sweet obedience of a maid uniform. The final green-and-white dress, paired with a white ruffled apron, matched my envisioned aesthetic wonderfully.

Let's start with the hair, makeup, and wardrobe preparation. The wig was specifically chosen with a silver-white base fading into a pale green gradient. To make the strands look natural, I dedicated considerable time to trimming the bangs and layered side locks. The elf ears are one of the core features of this styling; wearing them required precise placement to ensure a seamless fit against my real ears, followed by foundation and concealer along the edges to prevent seams from showing under harsh outdoor light. For makeup, subtle green eyeshadow was blended around the eyes and paired with matching colored contact lenses, aiming to accentuate the ethereal translucency of a non-human character.

The costume details are equally delightful. The top features a fitted white cut, where the green teardrop gem on the chest reflects a delicate sheen under sunlight. To support the skirt's full flare, I wore two layers of petticoats underneath. Because we had to walk around outdoors, I opted for solid white pantyhose (white stockings) and black Mary Jane shoes, allowing easy movement while keeping the overall color palette pristine and unified. My absolute favorite part of the attire was undeniably the massive long-handled broom. It was originally just a simple wooden broom, but I tied green ribbons at the top and added matching bows to the bristles, instantly transforming a household cleaning tool into a whimsical magical staff that felt wonderful to hold.

The shoot took place outdoors outside the Guangzhou Firefly ACG Expo. Outdoor shoots can be quite grueling—especially in the park setting we chose with lush shrubs and stone brick walkways. While the lighting was fantastic, mosquitoes were relentless. To catch the best natural light, we scouted the location beforehand and picked a path bordered by a lake and wooden railings. The afternoon sun filtered through tree leaves, creating a soft diffuse reflection across the white stockings that made the overall color palette look remarkably fresh.

In terms of posing, having the broom opened up huge creative possibilities. In the first shot, I held the broom high and hopped on one leg to channel a playful magical energy, letting the skirt flare out naturally to showcase the white stockings and leg lines. The second shot featured a half-squat sweeping pose, with a gaze blending innocence and focus. We had many retakes because the broom was long and easily poked into nearby branches or threw off compositional balance. The photographer kept encouraging me: 'Just treat the broom as your magic wand—no need to actually sweep with force, just keep your posture light and airy.' In the final photos, the interaction between the broom and my movements turned out wonderfully natural.

I am personally thrilled with how this entire set turned out. Although shooting outside a convention is exhausting—carrying heavy bags of costumes and props while constantly minding the skirt and wig—seeing the texture of light on the fabric and those vibrant, lively moments made every bit of effort worthwhile.
