The theme of today's shoot was bringing Exusiai from Arknights directly into real life. When I first saw the concept of "Texas, the parcel dropped! Exusiai in real life," the scene flashed in my mind instantly. Penguin Logistics' daily grind in a modern city would look just like this—running around in casual streetwear while dealing with all sorts of unexpected mishaps.
First, regarding the outfit: to convey that grounded "in real life" feel, I bypassed heavy tactical armor in favor of a black sleeveless turtleneck paired with an oversized white jacket, worn off-the-shoulder to cultivate an effortless, slightly lazy demeanor. For bottoms, I matched black shorts with semi-sheer Black stockings and chunky black platform canvas sneakers. This combination is wearable for daily life while accentuating leg lines on camera. To honor Exusiai's character traits, I specifically chose a vibrant scarlet wig styled into a petite side ponytail, adding fingerless tactical gloves and a long chain necklace to inject street-tech aesthetics. The wig was layered with textured edges, radiating immense energy beneath the studio lights.
Props played a pivotal role during the shoot. The oversized cardboard box was prepared specifically for this set, hand-inscribed with "THIS SIDE UP / DO NOT INVERT! THANK YOU" for added realism. The first shot was framed around calling to explain the dropped package: left hand holding the smartphone to my ear, right hand spread in resignation, with downcast eyes channeling disbelief at the blunder. The gesture felt organic since calling on a mobile is an everyday movement. The fingerless gloves were slightly slick against the phone screen, but added authentic character grit.
In the second frame, I hoisted the parcel, lifting one knee to brace its base while balancing my weight on the supporting leg. This stance tested core stability, but the kinetic tension in the shot was fantastic, showcasing leg contours and stocking texture cleanly. The parcel featured subtle handwriting reading "Exu..." as an in-universe nod. The platform sneakers provided great footing; despite their chunky soles, single-leg balancing remained remarkably steady.
The third frame captured a crouching pose beside the carton: one hand holding the phone, the other lightly tugging at my side ponytail, eyes drifting aside as if zoning out after finally sorting out the delivery or waiting for teammates like Texas to regroup. A flesh-toned bandage was placed on my thigh to hint at minor daily scrapes or combat scuffs, enriching the real-world narrative. While crouching, I ensured the jacket hem didn't drag on the floor while keeping leg muscle lines defined; the photographer shot from a slightly elevated angle to capture nuanced facial expressions. Lowering my center of gravity maintained balance, and the matte texture of the stockings contrasted cleanly against the white cyclorama, keeping focus locked on posture and poise. We reviewed angles between takes to make sure every shot radiated Exusiai's signature laid-back confidence and playful charm.
Overall, though the setup was minimalist—just a white backdrop and a cardboard box—the synergy between choreography and styling captured the bustling, freewheeling rhythm of Penguin Logistics. Interacting with the phone and parcel brought a fun intersection of game lore and modern life. Without heavy visual effects, the storytelling rested purely on body language and eye contact. While we may not encounter parcels dropping from the sky in reality, bringing this imaginative scenario to life through cosplay was pure joy from start to finish.
