During the Azur Lane exhibition on the Daxue Road pedestrian street, I had the pleasure of photographing Siyan. Although the lighting on site was quite complex, Siyan remained in fantastic form throughout, resulting in a cohesive set where both lighting and framing felt natural and comfortable during this Convention photo shoot.
The overall styling centered primarily around a soft pink palette, creating rich visual depth through its contrast with monochrome elements. The pink wig was styled with remarkable precision: the signature arch atop the head was shaped just right, paired with a wide black headband on the side to balance facial and head proportions gracefully. The layered light-pink and lilac Silk flower accessories on the side added soft, airy charm without feeling bulky, harmonizing seamlessly with the gentle atmosphere.
Regarding the costume, the most striking features were the ruffled black-and-white accents along the neckline and cuffs. The wide black choker and matching wrist cuffs drew visual focus directly to the collarbones and neck; combined with transparent shoulder straps and an off-the-shoulder cut, the look remained light yet structured in this Black and white ruffle outfit. The single white silk flower held in hand was a huge bonus prop—whether held near the cheek with the fingertips or rested across the chest, it injected an agile, interactive life into the shot. The contact lens color and translucent makeup complemented each other, giving the gaze a vivid, sparkling quality.
During shooting, we primarily used a wide aperture and shallow depth of field to blur out the bustling, cluttered exhibition background, leaving a clean canvas that accentuated delicate skin tones and the soft texture of the wig strands. Under indoor studio lighting, the complexion appeared fair and luminous, while natural daylight preserved authentic, tactile skin textures. Because the styling incorporates numerous flowing ruffles and semi-sheer fabrics, different angles yielded entirely distinct moods: poses like looking back over the shoulder or low-angle shots holding the flower beautifully showcased the breezy lightness of the attire.
Even though the convention floor was crowded, finding the right angles and lighting effectively filtered out background distractions. Stumbling upon such an exquisitely styled cosplayer on site and capturing every moment through the lens was a genuine joy. The various exhibition elements resonated wonderfully with the costume, coming together into a richly narrative set for this Cosplay sharing showcase.
