These photos were taken a couple of days ago at Comiket 108 in Japan, and I'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Japanese photographer for sharing these fantastic shots. From the initial preparations to the final photoshoot, a lot of thought and effort went into this Citlali cosplay. For the costume, I specifically chose a color-blocked design of cool-toned light blue and white, accented with deep purple bows and gemstone ornaments. The overall look carries both the fantasy vibe of Genshin Impact and a light, casual feel. The sleep-mask-style headpiece and the little monster hairpin on the side are iconic elements of the character, which I secured firmly so they wouldn't shift during various poses. The large white body pillow prop is super plush and soft, making interactive poses feel effortless and natural.
The weather was great on the day of the shoot, and the natural outdoor lighting brought out the depth and layering in the skirt's pleats and lace textures. The photographer captured several seated poses and reaching-out interactions. I'm particularly fond of the shot in Photo 1 sitting on the concrete ground—the relaxed seated posture allows the skirt to spread out naturally, and paired with the thigh ring and chunky white platform sneakers, the whole vibe feels very comfortable and relaxed. When portraying fantasy-style characters like this, makeup control is crucial. I used a clear, lightweight base paired with blue contact lenses and light blue geometric markings under the eyes, capturing the character's signature eye makeup without going over the top.
I met many fellow fans at Comiket 108 who appreciated the accuracy of this costume. Although shooting during the holiday was exhausting, seeing how well the lighting and expressions were captured in the final photos made all the prep work worthwhile. The white and blue tones look especially crisp in the sunlight, and without heavy post-editing, the authentic skin texture and fabric details are beautifully preserved. I hope to have the chance to shoot indoor lighting versions in the future to showcase another kind of dreamlike atmosphere.
