This time, I'm bringing you the summer swimsuit-themed official photos of Plana from Blue Archive, shot in a meticulously arranged indoor summer beach and pool party scene. The overall color tone centers on warm orange, attempting to foster the lazy atmosphere of a seaside evening, filling the entire frame with a soft summer vibe. In terms of prop selection this time, we used a red-and-white striped beach lounge chair, a tassel-woven parasol, as well as an inflatable coconut tree and a wooden storage box, striving to restore a strong sense of vacation within the indoor studio.
Regarding the costume and styling, I chose a black sailor-collar one-piece swimsuit this time, with white stripes and bow decorations at the neckline, preserving the character's original school uniform characteristics while seamlessly integrating summer swimsuit design elements. To add a touch of sophistication and design flair, it is paired with a black thin-strap leg ring on one side. Combined with the overall pure white long hair and the unique rabbit-ear halo headpiece, the high black-and-white contrast keeps the frame looking extremely clean and sharp. The wig was specially treated to have a smooth and silky texture; the over-the-knee long white hair drapes down, creating a soft glow under the side-backlighting.
During the shoot, to express the character's lazy, slightly cool, yet playful feel, we designed several different interactive poses. For example, the sets where I'm eating toast try to capture an unprompted relaxation in daily life, while the sets holding a pink bubble gun add to the frame's agility. Coordinated with the studio's wind equipment, the hair strands fly up, and combined with the colored bubbles scattering in the air, a dreamlike fairytale feel is created. For the lighting, the photographer beamed warm light from the side-rear, outlining a beautiful rim light on the body's contours and hair edges. The white highly reflective mirror panels on the floor also simulated the shimmering texture of a water surface, acting as an excellent base fill light.
The scene layout details are handled beautifully. The floor is covered with a layer of real fine sand, scattered with some small rocks and seashells. Stepping barefoot on it gives an incredibly authentic touch, matching the overall outdoor setting. Props like the wooden boxes and pineapples also add layers and a lifestyle touch to the frame. I tried many casual sitting and kneeling poses during the shoot. Through long-leg composition extensions and the details of the leg straps, the tailoring advantages of this swimsuit can be better showcased. This piece of work tries to combine lazy and cute styles without heavily exaggerated movements; instead, through some expressions and prop interactions, it conveys the character's scatterbrained yet well-behaved nature. Although shot inside a studio, the final photos possess a highly rich summer vacation atmosphere, and looking at the photos lets one feel that refreshing, heat-relieving sensation.
