[Privaty Cosplay] Goddess of Victory: Nikke - The Relaxed Vibe of Behind-the-Scenes First

Today's photoshoot for Privaty's maid outfit from Goddess of Victory: Nikke comes to a wrap. This set went really smoothly! While the official photos are still undergoing fine retouching, I couldn't resist picking a few behind-the-scenes snapshots to post first.

Speaking of which, before the shoot, my biggest worry was the layered feel of this costume. The black pleated skirt combined with the white lace-trimmed apron, plus that recognizable black bow on the chest—if the lighting wasn't right, the details could easily get blurred out. So I specially chose this background with a white wrought-iron bench and a rose flower wall to better reflect and highlight the black-and-white color scheme, making it look cleaner and sharper visually.

I also really love the color of the wig; this long teal curly hair pops vividly against the black-and-white monochrome outfit, bringing a cool yet playful temperament naturally. Earlier when shooting official photos in the studio, every pose and look in my eyes were polished repeatedly to achieve an accurate character recreation. But when it came to the behind-the-scenes part, I completely relaxed. Often, some casual angles captured by the photographer ended up having more vitality than intentionally struck poses.

For instance, like the sitting pose in this photo, the white over-the-knee socks paired with the ruffled hem—a composition with slightly angled legs elongates the leg lines nicely while bringing out the layered depth of the lace sleeves and skirt hem. It had just rained before going outdoors that day, so studio shooting became the top choice. Placing this plush carpet beneath, along with the white flower wall setup, made the overall atmosphere particularly soft.

Many friends asked me in the DMs how to shoot this kind of black-and-white maid outfit. Personally, I think the key lies in the "relaxed vibe" of movements. For example, don't keep arms stiffly vertical; you can lightly cover them in front of your body like in the picture, keeping the back straight but shoulders relaxed. Combined with makeup that slightly emphasizes eye makeup and lip color, you can display both the character's tsundere nature and elegance simultaneously.

The photographer's composition this time was also very captivating. Instead of using full-screen extreme close-ups, the ratio between the person and the environment was controlled just right—showing the entire outfit without letting the background steal the spotlight from the character. This use of negative space reduced a lot of pressure for post-processing retouching.

Wearing a maid outfit actually tests a person quite a bit; the corset vest inside needs its waistline adjusted, and the ruffles on the skirt hem must be smoothed out flat. For this set of photos, just putting on, taking off, and organizing props took a long time. However, seeing various details presented seamlessly in the finished shots made me feel that this spent time was completely worth it.

Actually, I've cosplayed many characters with different styles before, but Privaty's maid look is indeed very recognizable. Whether it's the half-concealing white lace sleeves, the playful little apron on the skirt hem, or even the headband and black bow on top of the head, every detail of the design emphasizes this character's unique personality traits.

Of course, the purpose of sharing these behind-the-scenes photos first is also to give everyone a small preview, focusing on delivering the relaxed atmosphere of the shooting set to those who see the photos. Often, when we look at retouched official photos ourselves, we pick out various detail imperfections, but behind-the-scenes shots preserve that original, vivid state—which is precisely why I was more willing to share these BTS photos first.

The full-day shoot was quite energy-consuming, especially maintaining the perfection of the wig and makeup, as well as repeatedly adjusting various movements. But seeing this set of behind-the-scenes shots in the end gives me a great sense of accomplishment. At least for now, this is a cosplay attempt I am very satisfied with.
