This bridal theme costume for Ganyu took about a month from pattern making to the final product. When I got the actual piece, the drape brought by the light tulle and lace materials on the upper body perfectly met my expectations for the "bridal" theme. The blue wig used soft high-temperature fibers, with a fairly natural curl, and the ends were trimmed into layers. Paired with the white flowers, veil on top, and the black horn accessories, I am quite satisfied with the overall accuracy. The golden circular emblem on the chest and the scattered blue flowers are the visual focus of this look, and the outer layer of mesh mesh presents a semi-transparent dreamlike luster under the studio lighting. The detached lace sleeves do a wonderful job of flattering the arm lines, while the entire corset structure provides good support while maintaining the "dreamlike feel."
The set on the day of the shoot was quite pure, featuring a large area of pure white background along with a fluffy white plush daybed, surrounded by clusters of light blue and beige artificial flowers, creating a light and holy atmosphere. The mirror reflection on the floor was a clever touch for this shoot, mirroring the layers of the skirt hem and the reflections of the flowers. The photographer used a softbox diffuser to reduce facial shadows, allowing the three-dimensional quality of the facial features to be showcased through contouring rather than harsh lighting.
In terms of pose design, I tried three different expressions. Standing while lifting the skirt was one of the highlights; paired with that pose, it beautifully showcases the styling proportions of the lace over-the-knee socks and high heels, while also revealing the details inside the skirt hem and the layers of blue lace trim. Sitting quietly while holding the bouquet was meant to express a gentle and mild emotion. Lastly, the cross-legged sitting posture was relatively more relaxed, adding a bit of laziness to the overall frame. The bridal theme is highly romantic among the many derivative settings of Genshin Impact, and the collision of Ganyu's Cryo element with the pure white wedding dress is visually very cool and ethereal.
When I checked the raw photos after finishing this shoot, I found that every small detail—the placement of the flower clusters, the draping angle of the veil, and the subtle facial expressions—influenced the texture of the final images. I communicated with the makeup and styling artist many times prior to the shoot, not only to sketch out the character's charm but also to present a more three-dimensional demeanor in front of the lens. In post-processing, we mainly adjusted the color temperature to maintain cool fair skin and a high-key atmosphere, eliminating chromatic aberration interference caused by clutter. The final photos basically aligned with the images envisioned in my mind. The overall color palette was controlled between ice blue and milk white. I hope this bridal series can convey the elegance and gentleness of Ganyu's original setting in this Genshin Impact cosplay work of Anime cosplay.
