For this Zenless Zone Zero Sunna cosplay shoot centered around the 'Afternoon Tea Break' theme, pre-production efforts focused primarily on perfecting the wig and prop synergy. Sunna's mint-green long hair easily washes out or appears overly pale under studio strobes; to bring out richer visual texture, I spent considerable time styling the fibers—particularly tuning the layered bangs and the airy fluffiness of the tips through repeated adjustments until achieving a natural, effortless fall. The cat-ear headband is one of the soul elements of this styling, and I tested several mounting methods to ensure it remained securely anchored to the crown without crushing the hairstyle.

In terms of makeup, the centerpiece was ocular expression. Sunna's eye contours possess a subtly upturned, keen alertness, so I blended reddish-toned eyeshadow along the outer corners to harmonize with the eyeliner's wing, giving her gaze lively focus and spirit. The placement of the white animal-motif sticker embellishment on the cheek underwent multiple minor recalibrations to ensure it resolved crisply before the lens without looking jarring or out of place.

Looking closely at garment details, the ruffled uniform color-blocked in deep navy and white projects a retro yet crisp silhouette. The cartoon-print red necktie across the chest serves as the visual focal point; I intentionally knotted the tie slightly loose, pairing it with relaxed white bloomers (lantern pants) to evoke an effortless, nonchalant everyday flair. Finished with black sneakers accented by neon green details, the ensemble harmonizes casual ease with a subtle sci-fi combat edge.

The prop department was truly the highlight of this photoshoot. The red-and-white megaphone prop is not only an unmistakable hallmark of her character identity, but also provided rich opportunities for kinetic posing interactions. In addition, the red backpack embellished with white wings alongside the numbers '3' and '4', plus the mechanical unicycle unit resting on the right, immensely deepened the environmental storytelling. Arranging them across the wooden floor in staggered, harmonious layouts allowed me to effortlessly sink into character, imagining her savoring a brief respite during a quiet afternoon.

The set was staged inside a room saturated in pastel pink hues: a gaming chair, utility rolling carts, and varied paraphernalia lining the shelves forged a space where feminine whimsy and sci-fi technology seamlessly coexist. During the takes, I sat cross-legged on the floor as sunlight angled through the window, washing softly over the hardwood and props. Holding the megaphone, I explored diverse eyelines—sometimes meeting the camera lens directly, other times glancing down in quiet contemplation—striving to capture Sunna's multifaceted moods during her relaxing afternoon lulls.

In cosplay, beyond the fidelity of wardrobe and props, what matters most is channeling the character's soul through body language. Sunna embodies a unique duality of languid nonchalance and calm coolness. Throughout the shoot, I continuously pondered her headspace in this quiet scenario. Foregoing theatrical or exaggerated gestures, simply sitting serenely and idly handling the props in my hands effortlessly conveyed that grounded relaxation.

From initial planning to the final shutter click, every step of this project was infused with a deep appreciation for the character. I place great weight on overall atmospheric cohesion, so when collaborating with the photographer, I emphasized unifying light, shadow, and color palettes. Steering clear of rigid, staged poses, we let postures flow organically. Seeing the finished selects—where the mint-green locks and vivid crimson props strike a striking chromatic harmony under warm lighting—made every tedious pre-shoot adjustment thoroughly worthwhile.
