Bringing Remielle and Ramiel from Zenless Zone Zero to life this time was a project long in the making. Once the costume arrived, I scrutinized every material texture: the leather paneling seams and harness strap placements all had to be aligned with millimeter precision. The corset bodice of the top was an endurance test in itself; putting it on demanded breath control, cinching the waist extremely tight to ensure a sharp, sculpted silhouette on camera. While the gossamer tulle sleeves were feather-light, each gathered ruffle at the cuffs required careful steaming, otherwise the harsh studio strobes would cause cheap, unflattering glare.

Trimming and styling the pastel pink wig was a massive undertaking. The tips had to be thinned out to create dynamic, airy layers, while the blunt fringe and face-framing tendrils were sculpted to hug my facial contours. The cross ornaments adorning the crown were mounted onto the structural wire with hot-melt adhesive; to keep them from breaking immersion across different angles, I tucked several bobby pins along the inner mesh. For makeup, matching the overall dark aesthetic meant shading the periorbital contours with cool-toned earthy neutrals, flicking the eyeliner slightly upward, and layering heavy sculptural contouring so my features wouldn't wash out flat under intense key lights. The black choker around my neck, accented with crimson gems, had to sit precisely below the throat so it wouldn't restrict head turns.

The studio scenography demanded tremendous effort. The gothic church arches, towering crosses, and two colossal pairs of feathered wings filled the space with a sacred yet eerie mystique. The prop artist staged the black and white feathered wings beforehand: the white wings hung beside the left crucifix, while the black wings were suspended on the right. The floor was carpeted with blue and white petals resting against the black reflective stair surface, delivering high-end tactile richness.

Shooting on set tested my core strength far beyond expectations. In the first standing frame, supporting the presence of the black wings behind me required an engaged back and disciplined neck and shoulder posture. To accentuate the leg lines and the fine details of the garter Stockings, I remained perched in those black red-soled high heels, continually shifting my center of gravity. The garter belts on my legs were embellished with star patterns, bow accents, and thigh bands—visually elongating the lower-body proportions, yet demanding immense standing balance. I applied anti-slip body adhesive to ensure the stockings wouldn't slip during hours of dynamic posing. My hand movements also had to remain fluid and deliberate, channeling the effortless elegance of a mage or a Void Hunter manipulating dimensional energy, syncing every wrist turn with the photographer's shutter clicks.

The second frame, kneeling on the reflective steps, took advantage of wide-angle optical perspective distortion to elongate the physique. To ensure graceful lines without risking accidental exposure, I spent considerable time fanning out the fabric of the flowing black skirt: one hand lifted the hemline to reveal the leg lines, while the other gestured into a spellcasting flourish. Under the upward low angle, directing my gaze was vital—it needed to project intimidating authority without losing the character's agile charm. Photographer @A-Miao Lao Shi exerted masterclass control over the chiaroscuro; the deep, cool-toned shadows within the studio created a dramatic contrast with the glowing highlights from the windowpanes, catching the black leather with an alluring sheen. We continually reviewed playback on the monitors between sets, re-angling the wings and tuning facial fill light to guarantee every frame showcased garment craftsmanship and character tension.

Dorothy Photography Studio provided stellar set infrastructure; the soaring arched windows and cold-blue daylight fill prevented the shadows from falling into muddy black. The entire session took over half a day, draining significant stamina. The wig styling spray developed faint glare under direct strobes, requiring several powder touch-ups, and standing in stilettos for hours left my arches aching. Yet seeing the final deliverables, every tight strap, aching shoulder, and strained muscle felt profoundly worthwhile. I wanted to embody that razor-sharp, dangerously seductive edge of the character in her Void Hunter state, and I hope every fold of leather and beam of light conveys that dark romance to you all.
