Before leaving home, I was worried that the lighting on an overcast day might feel too dull, but once on the rooftop, I realized this even diffuse light was practically a godsent softbox. Without harsh direct sunlight, shadows became soft, allowing individual hair strands and skirt pleats to display just the right dimensional layering. This outfit carries an abundance of details—especially the color contrast between the white ruffle trim and the red backpack, which stood out even more vividly under cloudy skies. During the shoot, I intentionally selected dynamic poses to capture Sunna's lively and playful personality; holding the megaphone prop in hand made it feel like I was ready to start an announcement at any second. White thigh-high socks accented with red bowknots balanced the visual weight of the dark skirt nicely. Throughout the session, we continually adjusted the fluttering angle of the skirt, repeating the exact same motion over a dozen times to achieve the best motion effect. The photographer was exceptional at capturing natural expressions without stiff posing, making it feel truly like enjoying an afternoon breeze. The cool gray of the rooftop railings and concrete flooring unexpectedly harmonized with the character's cool-toned wig. Post-processing was kept minimal, tweaking only basic exposure and color temperature since the raw shots already possessed fantastic atmosphere. Achieving such a natural result this time was really thanks to the weather and our seamless teamwork. The greatest joy of doing cosplay lies in capturing the character's vivid vitality, and an overcast sky proved to be the ultimate choice for soft, delicate textures in Rooftop photography as part of my Casual cosplay log.
