Once I got my hands on this Zenless Zone Zero Remielle costume for this Remielle cosplay, I immediately arranged a studio shoot. The overall garment structure was a bit more intricate than imagined; the color-blocking design of black, red, and white is very eye-catching against a pure white backdrop. The top utilizes plenty of semi-sheer materials and strappy lace-up elements, with leather sleeves and metal chains accenting the arms. For the lower half, black lace garter stockings paired with bow-accented pointed high heels in this Stockings cosplay visually elongated my leg proportions. To align with the character setting, I chose a bright pink wig trimmed into a bob with blunt bangs, complemented by black crisscross hair clips and black bows, and specially equipped pointed ear props to recreate the character's Elf ear style. The large wing props on my back were the focal point of this shoot—though made of paper material, their structure was large and exuded great visual tension when spread out, though posing required special care with angles to avoid making the frame feel overcrowded.
During the shoot, for the first set of poses, I chose to lie sideways on the floor with one leg bent and the other extended naturally—an angle that nicely showcased the leg lines and garter stocking details. With a hand resting gently on the edge of the wing, my gaze carried a touch of languor and aggression, perfectly matching the femme fatale vibe. For the second set of poses, I turned my back to the lens and looked back over my shoulder, a posture that fully exhibited the intricate strappy back design and the complete silhouette of the large wings, while holding a cup of pink drink as a prop to add everyday ease to this Dark style cosplay frame. The on-site lighting primarily utilized high-key illumination, where large areas of soft light illuminated the scene, rendering the skin texture very translucent without causing the black outfit to lose depth, instead sharply outlining the garment's tailoring against the white background.
Both the shoot and post-processing went very smoothly. To highlight the character's dark aesthetic, I focused on adjusting the contrast and cool-tone balance during retouching, preserving the metallic textures on the outfit while applying subtle, natural liquify touch-ups to the leg contours, making the overall image visually striking. For makeup, purplish-red contact lenses were used to enhance the depth of the gaze, while the outer eye contours were deepened, harmonizing with the extensive black costume to make the character look both dangerous and alluring. The integration of costumes, props, styling, and photography was quite satisfying this time, bringing to life the Remielle in my heart—tinged with cunning and cool detachment.
