Cosplaying Sunna from Zenless Zone Zero in her Swimsuit edition was a truly special experience, requiring meticulous effort from pre-production preparation to final post-processing. Sourcing the right swimwear took considerable thought; because Sunna features a delicate Loli frame, the silhouette needed to feel youthful and refreshing rather than mature. Pairing the dark one-piece with pink-and-white striped sleeves established a vivid, punchy contrast. The wig was the centerpiece of the styling: the white bob required strict control over hair strand flow, and I spent hours trimming the silhouette to create faint crown volume, clean lateral curves, and natural sheen direction under light. Makeup focused on a radiant base and soft eyeshadow, using highlights along the under-eyes and bridge of the nose to bring out sharp dimensional definition on camera. Shooting took place in the afternoon, where sunlight dancing across the rippling pool surface created an inherently dreamy ambiance. Posing along the edge tested flexibility and balance—the opening seated shot required holding an upright, elongated posture while casting an over-the-shoulder look that blended playful mischief with innocent curiosity. Synergy with the photographer was seamless; wide-aperture falloff blurred distant structures and foliage, letting the cool pool hues counterpoint warm skin tones to make the subject pop. The sleeve warmers became somewhat heavy once damp, yet wearing them throughout preserved the character's anime proportions and lively energy. In post-processing, color grading leaned toward a luminous, dewy aesthetic while retaining water texture and fabric weave, avoiding heavy tones. Seeing the final results justified all the hard work, and I hope this shoot successfully conveys Sunna's signature summer charm.
