[Yidhari cosplay] Showcasing Aura with the Giant Purple Tentacle Prop and Black Stockings in the Venue

For this Yidhari cosplay Convention photo set, the main focus was aligning the Giant tentacle prop with the character's unique temperament. When I first received that massive purple tentacle weapon, my immediate impression was how heavy it felt; the internal support structure was very sturdy. Although exhausting, it made shooting at the convention a much more rewarding challenge. Posing required constantly adjusting my center of gravity to look natural, especially when supporting it with one hand, which was quite a test of arm strength.

In terms of the outfit, the collar design of the white top is very distinctive, with cutouts placed just right. Paired with high-slit black shorts, along with the Black stockings and leg rings, it beautifully accentuated the leg lines. This aesthetic suited the character exceptionally well. To match the overall mood, the makeup deliberately highlighted red eye styling and light blonde short hair, completed with a small black top hat, which took on great texture under the venue lighting.

The shooting took place inside an anime convention hall where the background was somewhat chaotic. The photographer took advantage of the glossy reflection on the floor tiles and desaturated the background into a faded monochrome in post-processing, ensuring all attention remained fixed on the foreground's purple Giant tentacle prop and the Black stockings and shorts styling. Fine-tuning the angles of the prop took considerable time—we tested resting it on the shoulder, wrapping it behind the back, and coiling it around the arm, ultimately selecting several dynamic shots to capture the tentacle's dangerous yet agile feel. Paired with sideways stances, this elongated the body lines and enhanced the visual impact.

From the perspective of post-processing, lighting control was crucial: dimming the background while retaining cool tones brought out the red eye makeup and purple prop, with the intense contrast elevating the sense of mystery. Centering the composition ensured both the leg details and the expansive reach of the tentacles were fully presented. While shooting this set was physically demanding, achieving this seamless synergy between the tentacles and Black stockings to reveal the allure of the abyss Octopus girl made every ounce of effort worthwhile.
