This shoot was chosen in an indoor venue with a glass dome, where natural light pours down through the framework, just nicely forming a refreshing echo with the light mint custom design cosplay dress. The lace on the hat brim and the beaded details on the wrists were carefully paired, hoping the overall soft tones could restore Midare Toushirou's agile yet slightly playful temperament. The wig was specially chosen with an orange-pink gradient; I tried both braided and loose hair stylings. In the photo, I took a pose holding the hat brim with one hand, with my gaze lowered slightly to bring out the seriousness the character occasionally reveals.
During the shoot, we tried low-angle shots and half-body close-ups, letting the steel frame lines in the background and the halo overhead become a natural border, which highlights the person without looking empty. The advantage of custom design cosplay is that you can boldly integrate personal aesthetics, adding some lightweight decorative elements on the basis of maintaining the character's core impression. This makeup focused on the transparency of the eye makeup and the color rendering of the blue colored contacts, with a natural pinkish lip shade to match the overall girly vibe. What I enjoy most about doing a Midare Toushirou cosplay from Touken Ranbu is completely immersing myself in another identity in front of the lens. Even in the same scene, changing an angle and expression can create a completely different story atmosphere, offering a more relaxed vibe than typical convention photos for this Anime-style photography piece.
