[Cirno cosplay] The Ice Fairy of Touhou Project's Happy Time in the Classroom - Image 2

The theme of this shoot is very clear, which is the ice fairy Cirno from Touhou Project. To recreate this classic image, a lot of thought went into the early preparation of the styling alone.

This light blue short hair wig was trimmed with natural layers and a curved fringe. After wearing matching cold-toned colored contact lenses, my gaze needed to reveal a clear and slightly playful agility. For the clothing, a very intricate dress style was chosen. A large area of pure white ruffled lace was stacked on the neckline, cuffs, and shoulders, and white plush little balls were adorned on the shoulders; these elements combined together instantly maximized the cuteness. The large dusky pink bow on the chest is the visual center of the entire look. The velvet fabric presents different textures under the flash and natural light, and the bright blue gemstone in the center of the bow serves as the perfect finishing touch, happening to form a color contrast with the light blue hair color on top. The giant light blue bow on top of my head uses a stiff fabric and lace edges, ensuring a three-dimensional shape while also elongating the overall visual proportions.

We specially set the shooting location in a classroom with wooden desks and chairs. The equations and Japanese casually written on the blackboard perfectly built up a school atmosphere. Compared with pure-colored backdrop studio shoots, this classroom photoshoot adds more realism and a sense of story, allowing the character to interact with the environment. Photographer 风见睦月 is very good at capturing candid moments on-site, finding an angle that both showcases the environment and highlights the human subject. In this softly lit environment, the exposure of the character's face and the color restoration of the clothing materials are very well executed. Cooperating with the photographer, I naturally struck a double V-sign pose in front of the desk, leaning my body slightly forward and looking directly at the lens, creating a vibrant energy belonging to this character. The independent white lace wristbands on the wrists and the blue starry ribbon on the waist—these small details were well captured during the shoot.

Shooting such classic characters highly tests the control of characteristic details. From the size of the headpiece to the position of the gemstone, and even the cleanliness of the makeup, everything determines whether the final photo feels right. Due to the numerous accessories, hand movements need to be very extended when posing to avoid making the frame look bulky. While adjusting the lighting, to preserve the lace texture and the shadow details of the bow, multiple exposure combinations were also tried. Although it was necessary to maintain a relatively natural posture while wearing these heavy accessories during the shooting process, seeing those lively moments captured in the viewfinder made it feel completely worth it. Being able to record the form of this clever little ice fairy in the classroom this time was a very happy and earnest creative experience. Using this look for the shoot this time, I hope friends who like this character can see a carefully recreated final product.
