[Qingxiao cosplay] Wuthering Waves Qingxiao Convention Shots: Exquisite White-and-Blue Styling and Slender Leg Contours

Within the halls of Beijing IJOY Comic-Con, this set of convention photos featuring Qingxiao from Wuthering Waves has finally come together! The character's design places immense demands on craftsmanship; to authentically embody Qingxiao's ethereal, aloof elegance and fantastical Guofeng (Chinese fantasy) essence, styling the wig and accessorizing alone took considerable time.

The wardrobe is anchored by a serene white-and-pale-blue palette. The bodice is structured with a form-fitting cut, where the mandarin collar, cloud-motif embroidery across the chest, and metallic fringe tassels introduce rich textural depth under the venue's illumination. The skirt and lower back feature expansive cascading panels of semi-sheer, lightweight chiffon; while walking or striking poses, the fluid draping and billowing movement of the gossamer fabric look remarkably graceful. The lower half is paired with over-the-knee white Stockings, complemented by metallic latticework armor accents along the thigh, and finished with pure white high heels.

For props, I prepped a transparent crystal staff with internal blue gradient marbling. During the shoot, the staff caught the cool ambient lights with a pristine, crystalline reflection, its translucent texture blending harmoniously into the overall color scheme.

For the first shot, I chose to sit atop a tall black metallic barstool, holding the staff in one hand with one foot perched on the stool's crossbar while extending the other leg naturally forward. This composition not only framed the garment's layering and elongated leg lines, but also accentuated the character's poised aura. The second setup features a low single-knee crouch, gripping the staff in one hand while forming a spell-casting mudra with the other. The billowing skirt and chiffon cape draped across the floor, harmonizing with the venue's polished, reflective ground to evoke an icy, austere ambiance.

Given the convention environment, the background was naturally chaotic—crowded with steel truss structures, harsh overhead hall lighting, and wandering crowds. The photographer utilized a wide aperture to crush and blur the background clutter, pairing it with cool-toned fill lighting to cleanly carve the subject out of the chaotic venue and push contrast high. The floor reflections added wonderful spatial depth across the frame.

To complement the styling, the makeup incorporated pale-toned cosmetic contact lenses and clean eye contouring, deliberately accentuating pale blue hues that echoed the hair fibers. The wig was styled into a high ponytail adorned with textured tendrils, where long tresses flanking the face paired with delicate silk ribbons to enhance weightless motion.

In post-production color grading, the palette was kept strictly in cool tones without excessive processing, primarily to honor the textile textures and fine garment tailoring. Across styling, action choreography, and lighting, every choice was made to faithfully match the canonical character. Seeing the resulting chiaroscuro and the airy drape of the chiffon in the final selects made the sweltering heat of wearing long sleeves and the tedious dressing process at the convention deeply worthwhile. Capturing these angles within the venue's cramped footprint and chaotic lighting achieved everything we had hoped for.
