Lots of thought went into the details of this Zenless Zone Zero Phaethon Swimsuit cosplay shoot. The semi-sheer fabric of the top was very lightweight and breathable, keeping me relatively comfortable during a demanding outdoor photoshoot. The orange shorts showed rich color payoff under strong sunlight, creating a striking contrast with the light-colored top. Preparations took nearly an hour before shooting, mainly styling the blue twin-tail wig and matching the headband and orange accessories. Additionally, to handle strong ocean breezes, I brought setting spray so the wig remained sleek and manageable in the wind.

While wading through the water on the sand, the waves splashed over my ankles. Posing while holding the massive yellow-and-white swim ring was quite a test of arm strength, as it felt quite heavy once fully inflated. Photographer Fanchuan was fantastic at capturing motion, instructing me to engage my core while holding poses. In particular, he had me stand on one leg on the beach or leverage the leading lines along the shoreline to elongate my leg proportions. The series along the wooden boardwalk mainly utilized the perspective of the railings; while shooting, I had to keep a close eye on facial expression control to ensure a sharp, focused gaze.

During the shoot, we encountered challenges with rising tides and reflector glare. Controlling the reflector in windy conditions was extremely tricky, sometimes requiring the assistant to hold it down constantly. To make the body and leg contours look more fluid, sitting and bending poses required repeated angle adjustments aligned with the exact timing of the snapshots. The contrasting color palette of orange, blue, and white made post-processing pop easily. Overall, this outfit balanced techwear functional elements with summer leisure vibes, making for a wonderful shoot experience with a refreshing final aesthetic. Under strong sunlight, both skin tones and fabric highlights were rendered naturally, and the seamless harmony between props and scenery gave this set exceptional fidelity. This set serves as a documentation of the entire photoshoot process, from how the fabric held up under wind and sun to the intent behind pose design, perfectly aligning with my vision of this Moe anime girl character.
