The CP31 Hangzhou Anime Convention has come to an end, and cosplaying as the Genshin Impact character Lynette felt incredibly fulfilling. This time, I chose the "Angel Garden" outfit, maintaining strict control over the details during prep work. Because the white tulle skirt had multiple layers, the cat ears required dedicated styling, and paired with the cosplay white tights and heels, presenting an overall feeling of lightness and grace was essential.
The foot traffic on-site was immense; almost the moment I entered, I was surrounded by photographers. Standing at the center of a photo circle truly requires strong mental composure. To sustain poses with accurate posture, I constantly adjusted my stance, especially focusing on how to let the cosplay white tights showcase the cleanest leg lines beneath the skirt. The lighting was quite complex that day, and the bounce light was slightly chaotic, but fortunately the photographers were very swift at capturing candids.
The photo selected for the cover was taken near the Bilibili booth. The composition is complete and balanced, centering the subject without edge cutoffs, and clearly revealing details of the legs and skirt. A pleasant surprise was meeting friends cosplaying other characters as well as Chu Li. With effortless chemistry, we took many joint photos—especially cute finger-heart and cheek-to-cheek poses—where that shared ACG resonance was truly palpable.
Fan interaction is always the warmest part of an anime convention, and hearing kind compliments brought me immense joy. While many people came for photos, one fan thoughtfully prepared fan-made goodies for me and took a dedicated snapshot with a Polaroid camera, posing carefully to show off the Polaroid print. There were also fans handing out fan merchandise of me, for which I am genuinely grateful. As a cosplayer, seeing my efforts appreciated so sincerely brings a profound sense of achievement.
The venue was quite warm, so I touched up my makeup several times. Before every large group shot or solo photo session, I checked if the wig was tidy, if the cat ears were straight, and whether the skirt hem was caught around my legs to prevent tripping. Looking through the photos back home, I realized that the spontaneous expressions captured while shaking hands or receiving fan goodies were actually more engaging than rehearsed poses. This is likely the very bond people speak of—never underestimate our bond; such heartfelt connection is the most unique aspect of attending a convention. Although my legs were exhausted after the entire event, being able to fully present the character to fellow fans and receive such positive feedback made it all feel completely worthwhile.
