This time, the shoot features Ruan Mei from Honkai: Star Rail. The blue-and-white color palette design combined with layered ruffles captures both the flowing quality of a Chinese aesthetic and a touch of modernity.

Let me talk about the costume details first. The overall tone is dominated by tranquil peacock blue and pure white, perfectly fitting the character's cool temperament. The pink bow at the collar and the green gem add visual focal points, while the massive amounts of white lace and pleats at the cuffs, waist sides, and sock openings offer rich layers. The wig adopts long straight black hair with side braiding styling, embellished with white flower hair ornaments, heavily highlighting the exquisite nature of the overall Cosplay outfit.

Speaking of the shoot process, to highlight the long leg proportions and the flowing quality of the dress, I specially selected this pair of peacock blue high heels, paired with white ruffled thigh-high socks, and added a pearl chain at the ankle as an embellishment. Although these white tights and high heels look great in the frame, maintaining the leg line extension in the picture indeed heavily tested my balance; every seemingly relaxed and natural posture required my back to work secretly. Paired with the white fan in hand, it provided both a pivot for action and added a touch of classical modesty.

The set design this time was also exceptionally clever. The circular carved wooden window and faux white flowers behind create a courtyard under the moonlight vibe. The warm yellow paper lantern on the left not only breaks the monotony of the cool blue-and-white tones but also injects a warm ambient light into the cool main illumination, making the entire frame carry more of a narrative feel. Whether sitting on the daybed or kneeling on the soft fur mat, coordinated with the gauze drapes in the background, the overall look is soft and dreamlike, capturing an Ethereal Chinese aesthetic.

Regarding the makeup, since the character's skin is extremely fair, I paid special attention to the adherence and translucency of the foundation. For the eye makeup, I used a cold-toned slight shimmer to deepen the gaze, which, paired with a slightly upturned eyeliner, attempted to restore the character's calm and distant yet subtly tender expression. Because the headpiece and wig carried a large volume of hair, I actually touched up my makeup multiple times mid-shoot to prevent sweating from smudging the face, while constantly adjusting the position of the white hair accessories to prevent shifting.

Actually, every time I shoot clothing with extensive pleat designs and long hems, the biggest worry is that the fabric wrinkles won't look natural. Before this shoot, we specially used a garment steamer to carefully iron those white ruffles so they could present a fluffy and soft texture before the lens. There are also embroidery and petal patches on the peacock blue skirt hem; although these details elevate the frame's exquisiteness to a large extent, one must be exceptionally careful when taking a sitting pose to avoid making harsh folds on the fabric, often requiring multiple adjustments for a single small movement.

Compared to passionate colors, I feel Ruan Mei's tranquility has a special allure. Therefore, from many direct-shot angles, I tried my best to control my expressions, avoiding overly exaggerated smiles, opting more for that slightly blank or focused gaze toward the lens. This expression management isn't any lighter than a lively state; letting oneself maintain a sense of relaxation in demeanor while the body relaxes is crucial to preventing a rigid feeling in the frame.

From makeup/styling to shooting, the rhythm of the entire day was highly fulfilling. Although exhausting, seeing the final cuts in the camera one by one makes me feel all the tedious preparation work was worth it. To maintain the dress pattern, supporting and adjusting the skirt hem actually took quite a bit of our time, but I am very satisfied with the ultimate resulting effect. In terms of prop selection, a folded fan also provided a lot of space for execution; whether placed before the chest or resting on the knee, it can naturally bring out the character's temperament. I hope this sharing about the costume, set design, and styling allows friends interested in this Cosplay outfit to have a better understanding.
