Cosplaying Wakaba Mutsumi this time, the overall visual core of the photoshoot revolved around the concept of the multi-headed monster. For the wig, I selected a mint green shade with grey undertones. To enhance the doll-like vibe, I deliberately added bright blue-green eyeshadow and smudge details to the lower eyelids, sweeping pink blush across a large area of the cheeks to cultivate a pale yet exquisite porcelain finish.
The costume structure is quite intricate. A dark shoulder cape jacket is trimmed with gold embroidery, complemented by a white necktie featuring a green gemstone at the chest. The lower half combines a pleated skirt with red shorts. For visual impact, I wore sheer Black stockings. In terms of props, I prepared an extra-long red ribbon and a single black rose.
The shooting set was styled with black fabrics and white skeletal-form props, evoking a rather oppressive atmosphere. Regarding posing, I collaborated with the photographer to maximize interaction with the red ribbon—for instance, pulling the red ribbon across my eyes, winding it around my wrists, or stretching it taut while seated on the floor. These gestures introduced a feeling of tension and restraint into the frame, aligning closely with the character's inner nature.
To showcase the Black stockings and leg lines during the shoot, I experimented with several seated poses. When sitting sideways on the wooden chair, extending the toes was crucial to visually elongate leg proportions. Because I wore red chunky-heeled Mary Janes accessorized with lace ankle cuffs, keeping the instep as taut and straight as possible while seated created a much more slender visual line.
The black rose was introduced midway through the shoot; holding the flower with an extremely aloof expression under side-rim lighting conveyed the character's detachment flawlessly. The overall lighting was kept moody and dim, focusing primarily on illuminating facial features and costume details. The most challenging part was controlling the eyes—avoiding excessive emotional fluctuations to maintain an inorganic, hollow stare.
For the shots involving pulling the red ribbon, the floating trajectory of the ribbon required constant repositioning, taking several attempts to achieve the ideal arc. Standing beside the white sculptures in this outfit, balancing the high heels while managing the flare of the skirt hem demanded maintaining a tight, poised posture throughout. The hit rate of this set was remarkably high; I absolutely adore this dark fairytale visual atmosphere.
