This time, I tried Saber's maid outfit styling from the TYPE-MOON universe. The entire shoot revolved around the core emotion of 'utterly displeased to serve you,' so both my poses and facial expressions carried a deliberate sense of distance.
Preparing for this shoot took quite a while. The blonde wig was pre-trimmed, and to match the character's canon appearance, I wore light-colored contacts and applied slightly heavier eye makeup to inject a sharp edge into that sullen expression. The monochrome maid dress was packed with details: the ruffled neckline was structured and crisp, and the cinched waistline defined the silhouette cleanly. To achieve flattering leg proportions, I chose black over-the-knee stockings paired with a lace garter, which accentuated the leg lines nicely, while the chunky platform high heels not only added height but also gave a distinct center of gravity to my posture.
The mop and bucket were the core props on set. The mop had a long handle and carried noticeable weight along with the bucket. The photo selected for the cover is the third one featuring a bending pose. That posture was actually quite a test of balance: to display the back curves and leg lines while keeping my facial expression intact, I had to keep my back slightly arched, grip the mop handle firmly with one hand, and rely on the heels' grip for stability.
When planning compositions, we intentionally chose a solid backdrop to simplify the frame, directing all visual focus toward the silhouette and the contrast within the attire. The black flared skirt against the white apron, along with the black stockings contrasting pale skin, created sharp visual layers. Since the neckline was cut relatively low, the bending pose showcased the neck and shoulder lines even better; combined with the lace band on the thigh and the texture of the stockings, the overall visual matched the setting seamlessly. However, pairing a short skirt with high heels naturally restricted wide movements, so I had to constantly adjust my seated and crouching positions to keep the skirt looking sharp.
Portraying this kind of character naturally demands maintaining an aloof, aristocratic tsundere demeanor. Throughout the shoot, I kept reminding myself of the persona: someone reluctant yet obligated to do household chores. The photographer was also fantastic at catching those fleeting expressions; I was particularly pleased with the cool, slightly disdainful look captured in this set. The pure white background eliminated visual distractions while emphasizing the rich tonal depth of the blacks. This photoshoot log serves as a record of my interpretation of the character.
