This set of cosplay convention photos was shot during a relatively quiet period of the anime expo. The photographer used on-site equipment to set up a temporary studio, keeping the lighting exceptionally clean, which made the reflection of the silver armor turn out incredibly well.
Wearing this costume is truly a physically demanding task. The royal blue battle robes feature a very thick breastplate and corset structure, and with the cape, it gets extremely stuffy and hot. Although the white fur collar looks beautiful, wearing it makes breathing feel a bit restricted. However, to capture that cold and sharp aura of the character, I had to grit my teeth and push through.
Speaking of those two massive weapons, it's really thanks to the prop maker. That silver-white woven lance looks like it has a bone-like woven texture, but in reality, holding it carries a lot of weight. To capture that cool pose of standing while holding it with one hand in Image 1 and Image 4, I had to use my entire body's strength to support it. If I loosened up even a little, the weapon was at risk of tilting.
The braided styling of the wig and the forehead ornament were the focus of my hair and makeup this time; it took me a long time to style it to get that meticulous look. Paired with grey-blue toned brown colored contacts, my gaze looked exceptionally chilling.
During the shoot, facial expression control is actually very important. Many cosplayers easily break into laughter when taking photos, but I had to keep a straight face at all times to highlight this character's queenly aura. Especially in the pose holding the lance in Image 3, the arm muscles had to be slightly tensed, and the eyes had to gaze firmly at the lens to truly convey that combat state.
I have to say, the photographer's snapshots were extremely steady. Although there were many people and passersby walking around on-site, the aperture was kept wide open, and with the background slightly darkened in post-processing, the subject's silhouette was perfectly highlighted. The cold, aloof gaze, the striking red cape, and the reflection on the silver battle boots made this character a highly unique experience in my cosplay journey.
This wig and outfit indeed drew quite a lot of attention, and almost everyone present recognized this classic color scheme. Every time I play such a classic character, it's a test of my own aura. Although wearing the armor was exhausting, and the fur collar around my neck was soaked with sweat when I took it off, seeing the photos made me feel everything was completely worth it.
This set of photos is not only a record but also a test of my styling ability and on-camera expression. I hope to shoot more of these authentic cosplay convention photos in the future. This is the true essence of high-quality Anime-style photography.
