During these days when the hydrangeas are in full bloom, I finally shot the outdoor location for the Sankarea: Undying Love cosplay. This time it was chosen at Dongguan Xiangyu Baihuayuan. To be honest, the park full of Endless Summer hydrangeas, with that interwoven palette of pink, blue, and purple, perfectly matches the purple-and-white color-blocking sailor suit setting of Rea's outfit, especially when paired with the deep blue bow, resulting in a highly unified overall color scheme.

The most frequently used prop was the transparent umbrella. Although it was an overcast day during the shoot and the light was relatively soft, this kind of diffused light on a cloudy day was instead perfect for expressing her unique, slightly melancholic and crisp temperament. The photographer, Teacher Chenguang Star, put a lot of thought into the composition. For instance, in Photo 3, having me sit on a white bench holding the umbrella, looking through the white openwork backrest and the layers of flower bushes in the background, combined with the inherently prominent red colored contacts and long straight black hair, makes it very easy to focus the viewer's gaze on the character's emotional expression.

When crafting a Sankarea: Undying Love cosplay look, the most important aspect is detail restoration. The position of the butterfly hair clip, the folds of the collar, the pairing of black tights with platform leather shoes, and even the saturation of the necktie must match the flavor of the original work as closely as possible. There was a little interlude midway through the shoot: the action in Photo 2 where I held a leaf in my mouth was teased by the photographer as looking like I was eating grass, but it turned out unexpectedly cinematic, perfectly capturing her innocence and curiosity towards the unknown, which beautifully embodies the spirit of Sankarea: Undying Love.

In fact, what moves people most about Rea is her resilience as a zombie who constantly longs for a normal life. Presenting such a character in an environment surrounded by flourishing flowers creates an interesting contrast between life and death. This is my second time attempting to shoot this character; compared to the previous studio shoot, my state in this real flower sea is much more relaxed and natural. Fortunately, the blooming period for these hydrangeas is still ongoing, and leaving a set of photographic records belonging to Rea here feels incredibly fulfilling.
