Putting on the Sankarea: Undying Love uniform and standing in the hydrangea bushes, I was instantly reminded of that slightly melancholy and mysterious atmosphere from the anime. This sailor suit was specially customized by me; the purple-and-white color scheme and blue bowtie have a high level of restoration, and paired with the long straight black wig and red colored contact lenses, the overall vibe felt right very quickly.

This photoshoot was deliberately chosen during the hydrangea season, and the sweeping sea of blue flowers matches the character's temperament perfectly. Poses like crouching in the flowers for a low-angle shot, lying on a bench, and holding a bouquet of faux flower balls were all designed to capture that sense of quietness belonging to Rea. As a cosplayer, what I fear most during location shoots is rainy days and high temperatures, but the weather helped out this time; the natural greenery of the bushes and the blue flowers truly made the most perfect background.

The photographer used many low-angle shots, bringing both the sky and the sea of flowers into the frame. The resulting photos have great clarity, and the atmospheric feel is completely maxed out. When the light is soft, the texture of the wig and clothing can also be better preserved. Every time I seriously restore a character, I get to experience her story all over again.
