The convention hall venue was surprisingly spacious; the gray concrete floor and overhead steel framework actually created a very clean shooting environment. These convention photos capture Iuno from Wuthering Waves, whose blue-and-white color scheme presented an exceptionally fitting cool, crisp texture under the venue's cool-toned lighting conditions.
The costume design seamlessly integrates Chinese style outfit elements—such as a mandarin collar, golden frog buttons, and meander trim across the chest, along with delicate Jacquard embroidery on wide sleeves. To emphasize character lightness, shoulders feature an off-the-shoulder cut paired with blue arm sleeves, visually extending upper body lines nicely. The lower half features a dark blue miniskirt adorned with subtle ink-wash cloud motifs and gold edging, fluttering with rich grace during movement. To complete the look visually, I specifically chose white pantyhose paired with white ankle socks and black glossy Mary Jane shoes, forming distinct color layering on lower limbs without looking top-heavy.
The wig is a heavy-craft deep blue long wig featuring white highlights, topped with two fluffy bun accessories and dangling white puff balls and tassels, rendering the character adorable yet dynamically lively. The hair fibers themselves possess excellent texture, reflecting delicate luster under light illumination.
Bustling crowds are inevitable at convention sites; framing shots in relatively vacant elevated areas or corners minimized background clutter effectively. Photographer WiFi and I shared seamless synergy, repeatedly adjusting softbox and light stand placement throughout the shoot. Props utilized also carried careful consideration—both the folding fan and vintage metallic lantern served as wonderful visual leading elements within frames. In the two high-stool shots, unfolding the white fan allowed looser body postures, lending natural languor to the composition. However, achieving this naturalness was quite demanding: preserving wig volume without flattening, managing the skirt to prevent exposure, and directing gazes precisely into the lens required constant fine-tuning of every detail.
Mid-shoot, several high-dynamism candid convention photos were caught—such as swishing long hair and skirt hemlines. While static shots appear quieter, I personally adore these motion-infused frames that showcase natural fabric folds resulting from body movements, offering a direct impression of costume materials and tailoring. Reviewing playback afterward, the tailoring's close adherence to body contours left the deepest impact; traditional Chinese style garments easily feel heavy, yet this piece struck a perfect balance between drape and weightlessness, maintaining crisp silhouettes even when crouching or spinning.
Coinciding with the Mid-Autumn Festival, shooting carried a subtle festive ritualism. Interpreting this blue-and-white intermingled character amid cool color tones offered a uniquely tranquil experience. Though convention schedules were jam-packed, the moment I immersed myself in character state before the lens, all tedious preparation and rushing felt entirely worthwhile. This photo set captures authentic convention-day states while preserving the site's unique lighting atmosphere, hoping everyone feels the character's genuine charm through these captures.
