[Gongsun Li Cosplay] Honor of Kings Default Skin A-Li in a Red Maple Courtyard

This outdoor shoot selected the classic Gongsun Li default skin look from Honor of Kings, setting the scene in a traditional garden. To restore the setting, a lot of effort went into the makeup and styling, pairing light orange long hair with white-and-orange fox ears, as well as a red-and-white color-blocked top and black trousers, striving to stay true to the character's classic image.

The natural light on the day of the shoot was excellent, with sunlight filtering through the pillars and wooden doors of the Chinese-style architecture, forming a high-contrast light and shadow effect on the bluish-gray flagstone floor. The photographer specifically captured the exact moments when the hair strands and dress hem fluttered in the breeze, which, combined with the deepening autumn atmosphere and falling red maple elements, allowed the static cosplay work to display dynamic vitality.

This red-and-white oil-paper umbrella was not only a crucial prop for restoring the original setting, but also played a massive role during the actual shoot. The opened surface of the umbrella beautifully modifies the facial lighting, while closing and letting it hang allows arm movements to integrate more naturally into the overall posture. For the clothing material, a matte red fabric was intentionally chosen to avoid excessive reflection under strong outdoor light, while also balancing breathability and comfort during the shoot.

For the default skin look, I believe the core lies in showcasing the character's confident and agile state, rather than over-relying on flashy post-processing special effects. Therefore, during post-processing, the contrast between highlights and shadows from the original shots was retained alongside the skin's authentic texture, using the quality of light and shadow itself as much as possible to deliver the character's aura. This restoration is not just about being close in appearance; more importantly, through the coordination of composition, body language, and scene elements, it makes the character come alive in the frame.

Looking back at this set of works, whether sitting on the artificial rockery stones holding the umbrella or the exact moment of turning sideways for a backward glance, the overall visual effects presented match my expectations quite well. This way of shooting, which integrates the classic default skin into a real natural environment, also gave me a greater sense of freshness in cosplay creation during this Chinese-style garden location shoot.
