These photo set teaser cuts for Eleg from Goddess of Victory: Nikke are finally ready to be unveiled today. After extensive communication with my photographer regarding lighting schemes and composition, we decided on a pure white infinity studio backdrop to accentuate the garment's colors, keeping the frame crystalline clean while maximizing the visual punch of the yellow-and-black color collision. The costume design has extraordinary flair; from the very first moment I saw the original game art, I knew I had to recreate that cybernetic mecha techwear aesthetic to the absolute letter.
Finding the right wig took considerable searching, finally settling on this textured golden short cut—the shade couldn't tilt too neon yellow nor wash out into pale blonde. To achieve the messy, outward-flicking cowlicks from the original splash art, I used substantial amounts of hairspray and sculpting wax for fixation. The geometric yellow hair accessory atop the crown was hand-cut from acrylic sheets, with the mounting angle tweaked several times before it looked just right. In cosmetics, I chose reddish-brown contact lenses and a high-saturation crimson lip, adding the iconic labret piercing beneath the lower lip; paired with a playful tongue-out expression, it aimed to evoke an attitude that is both mischievous and effortlessly cool.
Looking at wardrobe construction, the inner layer is a white long-sleeved button-down shirt whose yellow and black graphic stripes were custom-tailored. The outer yellow-and-black jacket was styled to slip halfway down the shoulders, breaking visual stiffness while framing the layered garments beneath. The most labor-intensive piece was undoubtedly the heavy yellow armored vambrace on the right arm: to capture that rugged, structural solidity from the game art, it was sculpted over a solid foam base, finished in high-gloss automotive enamel, and detailed with engraved panellines and functional metallic buckles, showing off exquisite tactile depth during macro close-ups. Down below, black denim shorts feature raw frayed edges, hazard-striped warning chevrons along the hip, and red nylon utility straps with metal buckles that push techwear styling to its peak.
During the shoot, to flatter the midriff and waist contours, I leaned forward slightly and rested one hand beneath my chin, infusing the stance with dynamic kinetic energy. The beauty of a pure white backdrop is how vibrantly the wardrobe pops: the high contrast between yellow and black, accented by pops of crimson, creates an arresting visual hierarchy. Even though this drop is merely a teaser, I am thoroughly satisfied with the textile textures and prop execution. Choreographing poses was an ongoing experiment in channeling her slightly languid yet dangerously aggressive aura; sticking out my tongue was an impromptu flash of inspiration on set that resonated impeccably with the outfit's rebellious vibe.
