[Klee Cosplay] Genshin Impact Spark Knight Klee: Outdoor Red and White Outfit Log

This set of photos is the second installment of the Klee series. Back when the first part was released, everyone reacted very positively to the accuracy of my red and white outfit, so this time I specifically scheduled an outdoor shoot with the photographer to re-interpret this character in a more open outdoor setting. To achieve the best visual effect, we optimized many costume details and prop combinations prior to shooting.

First, let's talk about the main styling focus. The red and white color contrast is the most classic visual symbol for this character. The white knitted cardigan I'm wearing features a few daily-style tweaks compared to the original inner layer. Broad red trims were kept at the neckline and cuffs, along with red lapel accents, making the overall visual look richer. For the bottoms, I chose red bloomers paired with a white base layer and red-and-white slouch socks, which prevents the look from appearing top-heavy while nicely framing leg lines, making the whole posture feel more dynamic. The hat is the soul of the entire look—this red suede ear-flap hat, combined with a custom clover badge on the front, perfectly recreates the character's childlike wonder and whimsical fantasy feel. To match the overall atmosphere, I wore red colored contact lenses, used a short silver-white wig, and attached pointed elf ears—instantly capturing the character's essence as soon as they were put on.

The location for this set of photos was a very distinctive outdoor staircase area. The cylindrical handrails on both sides of the stairs were wrapped in interwoven orange, yellow, red, and white mosaic tiles; this vibrant warm-toned mosaic beautifully resonated with my red and white outfit. Potted flowers dotted the surroundings, making the entire environment burst with vitality. The advantage of such outdoor photography settings is the soft natural light, which perfectly renders the texture of knitted garments and the suede finish of the hat, achieving a slice-of-life casual feel without relying on complex studio lighting setups.

Since we wanted to emphasize the character's lively and playful vibe, we tried many different poses. In some photos, my hands are lightly curled in front of my chest, paired with a tilted head or squinting smile to convey a gentle, approachable feeling facing the lens. In others, leveraging the height drop of the steps, I struck wider poses—such as placing one foot up on a step while adjusting my hat brim or reaching toward the camera—adding visual tension and breathing space to the frame. Finally, a few shots feature leaning over the mosaic railing next to fresh flowers, creating a relaxed, cozy, yet vibrant visual effect. After all, besides her energetic side, this character occasionally has these adorable face-pinching moments, and capturing these multifaceted dimensions was essential during the shoot.

For color processing, we avoided overly punchy saturation, opting instead to retain subtle muted tones to give the overall image a creamy, soft texture. White balance was dialed slightly warm, harmonizing with the warm mosaic tiles in the background so the photo set shared a cohesive, cozy warm-toned palette. The photographer offered great guidance on composition, avoiding exaggerated wide-angle distortions and using a medium-telephoto lens to capture natural poses—preventing the subject from looking flat while clearly illustrating the relationship between person and environment.

In fact, every time I cosplay a character from this series, I have to make tradeoffs between costume comfort and accuracy. For example, to move freely outdoors, we deliberately added stretch considerations into the design of the shorts and sleeve cuffs so that even large-scale movements wouldn't severely deform the clothes. The same went for accessories: the badge on the hat and white pom-pom earrings were custom-crafted pieces that served not only as finishing touches but as key elements elevating the overall Cosplay outfit quality.

From early preparation and makeup design to field shooting and post-processing retouching, although it took much effort and time, seeing the final photos made it all feel completely worthwhile. Outdoor shoots always come with unpredictable factors—like changing natural light or glances from passersby—but that's precisely where the charm of outdoor photography lies. In short, this work represents a concrete expression of my understanding of the character, and I hope sharing it brings you visual delight.
