The location scouting for this second set of the cosplay photoshoot was near the guardrails of the railway tracks in the suburbs. The shadows under the direct sunlight carry a great texture, making it highly suitable for presenting the cinematic feel of school-themed characters. From composition to lighting, we chose to shoot slightly after midday, because the light is harshest at this time, capable of forming strong light-and-dark slicing on the ground and wire mesh, just enough to bring out that stage feel filled with the breath of daily life yet slightly tsundere.
The wig part was handled very carefully. The long light-blonde hair combined with straight-cut bangs is the core visual element of the character. The level of recreation heavily relies on the smoothness of the hair strands and the adjustment of the bangs' arc; the makeup artist did a lot of work handling the hair roots to make it look natural and voluminous. The top is paired with a beige V-neck knit vest and a white short-sleeved shirt. The two dark-red trims on the collar and the custom badge details on the chest bring the overall school uniform texture much closer to the original settings. To coordinate with the overall color balance, a pure white long style was selected for the gloves, which not only elongates the arm lines but also makes it easier to aggregate focus during movements.
During the shoot, the details of the white stockings actually tested the on-scene state a lot. Because I had to sit on the ground and the non-slip green painted surface beside the tracks, catching even a tiny bit of dust or accidentally snagging onto debris would form a blemish in the frame, so adjusting every single pose required absolute caution. The loafers were also specially selected with black uppers carrying a certain gloss, forming a high contrast with the white stockings. The photographer and we cooperated with great chemistry, catching the exact moment when the wind blew the hair strands in a limited time, which makes the image look much more vivid.
The makeup part emphasized the depth of the eyes, paired with golden-yellow colored contacts and warm-toned lip makeup to echo the blonde hair and the overall warm sunshine environment. Since outdoor shooting light frequently changes, the makeup artist stayed right beside me with a mirror the entire time to touch up my makeup, ensuring that the facial glow could be maintained under the strong light. In terms of action arrangement, aside from natural standing and sitting postures, some interaction movements with props were added, like holding a small black object or making a heart gesture with hands to relax facial expressions. Interpreting this type of character carrying a certain 'queen' attribute requires the expression to be confident, but at the same time possessing approachability without being overly cold; this sense of propriety demands constantly searching for angles facing the lens.
Overall, this set of images lacks a lot of those magnificent decorations routinely used in studio shoots, utilizing instead the outdoor rusty guardrails, rough ground, and intense sunlight to mold the character's sense of life and realism. There are no extra cluttered elements in the frame, mainly highlighting the person herself and the costume details. I hope that through clean light and shadow along with natural emotions, everyone can perceive that unhurried, confident atmosphere of this character within a school environment. The photographer's choice of angles and the post-production retouching preserved the skin's texture without excessive skin smoothing, making the overall feeling more natural and fresh. I hope to present an impressive visual experience for everyone.
