[Albedo cosplay] Overlord White Gown Fitting: Gearing Up for the National Day Anime Convention

Today, I pulled out my Albedo costume for the upcoming National Day Anime convention to do a quick session of trying on clothes. I prepared the iconic white tiered ruffle gown. For anyone attentive to detail, assembling this outfit definitely tests your patience. The multi-layered gold chains draped across the chest tangle very easily; I had to adjust them several times in front of the mirror to make sure they hung flat across my torso, and the gem-encrusted choker at the collar had to be fastened securely so it won't slip while navigating crowded convention halls.

The off-the-shoulder bodice and cinched pleated waistline heavily depend on tailored patterning, and fortunately, the fit turned out quite snug and flattering. The skirt features multi-tiered ruffled panels with generous yardage, offering substantial drape. However, the high side slit requires careful movement to maintain coverage while walking, so safety shorts are an absolute must for the convention day. The fabric of the gloves is slightly slippery, which might make gripping props a bit tricky during the event—I'll need to spend the next few days getting used to wearing them.

Since today was purely for trying on clothes, the wig hasn't been cut or styled yet, and I haven't done the makeup. Snapping a shot as-is felt like it lacked the character's signature aura, so I simply took a mirror selfie and covered my face with a wide-mouthed cat emoji. This allowed me to document the outfit's silhouette without any awkwardness from an incomplete look. The interplay between the crisp white drape and gold accents gives great visual dimension, and the undulating hem moves naturally with every step.

For the National Day Anime convention, I have also prepped several complementary props that I'll be finishing up over the coming days. I've already mapped out a few character-authentic poses for on-site interactions. I hope to run into fellow Overlord fans at the event to chat about the build and snap some memorable hall photos. Right now, it's all about fine-tuning the fit day by day to ensure peak comfort and presentation on the big day.
