[Wcos] Arknights Mercenary Cosplay Fitting Log

This Cosplay fitting log marks my fourth set already. Putting on this long black coat and standing before the mirror, without the wrapped bandages, the entire look leaned heavily into a Black theme with an intense sense of oppression. The black coat has a structured, crisp silhouette, and the hem has great movement and texture when walking. The white hair with red cords creates a striking contrast against the all-black attire. The previous sets—her default outfit, Fugue (Shattered Corona), and Walter/EW—were all quite complex and restrictive to wear, especially the default look with so many small accessories. In comparison, this Mercenary outfit is much easier to put on and take off without taking too much time. Since the entire garment is a long-cut dark tone, it doesn't accentuate body lines directly; instead, it relies on a cold, hardened aura to carry the look. During the fitting, I constantly adjusted the shoulder straps and neckline to avoid looking bulky. The background on the left side of the mirror was too cluttered, so I simply blurred it out, and that hazy boundary actually added a touch of mystery.

Halfway through the fitting, I suddenly felt that skipping the bandages delivered even more visual punch than wearing them. While bandages add layers, exposing the solid black inner layer made the fabric's reflection under the lights purer and much more menacing. The white hair and red cords are the soul of the look, and styling the wig's curves with hairspray took quite a while. The fabric is very heavy, but the upside is that it resists wrinkles and doesn't get dirty easily during the fitting. My biggest takeaway from wearing this is that while previous outfits caught the eye through intricate details, this one wins through its sweeping Black theme and minimalist lines. Furthermore, although the coat is oversized, the cuffs are snugly tapered, allowing easy hand movement. To capture the best angles, I tried high and low shots, but ultimately the straight-on mirror reflection felt the most fitting. Since the mirror's reflective area was small, I could only stand half-turned, and with the left side blurred out, the focus naturally fell onto the outfit on the right.

Honestly, wearing those elaborate outfits gets exhausting after a while, whereas this one is great for trying on in a relaxed state without much stress. However, its presence requires careful nuance—not too soft, requiring a much more upright posture. As mentioned earlier, her default and Fugue looks each have their own flair, and EW is the epitome of bold personality, but this fourth set gives me the grounded presence of a seasoned hunter. Seeing clothes on a hanger versus wearing them in front of a mirror are two completely different things, and the tailoring of this outfit looked very comfortable in the mirror. Overall, this Cosplay fitting experiment without bandages was a great success, faithfully capturing the cool, capable edge of a dark Mercenary.
