For this fitting session, I chose Joon Yorigami (Joon Yorigami cosplay) from Touhou Project (Touhou Project), aiming to break down the preparation process across wardrobe, hair, makeup, and props. First is the wig: Joon Yorigami's signature orange twin-tail hairstyle proved quite challenging in practice. To give the hair an airy, wavy, layered dimension, I selected thick heat-resistant synthetic fiber, styling wavy arcs section by section with a large curling iron and tucking the ends slightly inward. To keep flyaways from looking frizzy on camera, I used hairspray for targeted setting, ensuring the overall silhouette held firmly so macro close-ups faithfully reflect the character's hair texture.
Regarding the costume, the inner white lace camisole serves as a crucial base layer. Its fabric features subtle jacquard patterning, catching natural ambient light with delicate dimensional depth rather than plain white monotony. The high lace collar trim and clean edge stitching hug the neckline neatly while introducing vintage flair. The outer purple wide-sleeved coat forms the visual center of the entire look; the black-and-gold embroidery along the borders is densely packed with vivid color contrast, finished with white plush cuffs to balance the visual weight. The tiered, voluminous white skirt is edged with crimson lace trims and bows, structured with excellent support to drape into natural folds while walking. Styled with black mid-calf lace-up leather boots, mirror selfies flatter the calf contours effortlessly.
Accessories are packed with micro-details. The black mini top hat perched at the crown and the polka-dot sunglasses serve as signature touches; the lenses offer moderate light transmission, resting comfortably across the forehead without obstructing vision while adding playful personality. The long pendant necklace and emerald-green gemstone earrings echo one another, complemented by multiple colorful gemstone rings on the hands and a thick stack of prop banknotes, making poses instantly more atmospheric. For cosmetics, the focus centered on the eyes, using reddish-orange eyeshadow blended deeply along the outer corners, paired with light-toned contacts and defined, separated lashes to give the gaze a sharp, focused intensity.
For the photos, the first two close-up shots highlight facial cosmetics and delicate lace textures. Under indoor lighting, I carefully calibrated hand placement while holding the banknotes to avoid stiffness and emphasize the jewelry. The third shot is a straightforward full-body mirror selfie to showcase the tailoring and color balance. Since this was a fitting, I kept the background simple with a plain white wall and plush rug, allowing the outfit and character to take center stage. Overall, while there are numerous accessories, putting everything together was quite smooth, and the harmony across elements makes capturing great shots effortless with just minor lighting and angle adjustments.
