"Gonna turn you into Kotori's snack!" I dug out a wig from seven years ago and paired it with Minami Kotori's school uniform. This wig had been stored away for quite a long time, but after a gentle combing, its smoothness was surprisingly acceptable. The bangs are trimmed fairly neat, and the stray side hairs were lightly styled with wax. The green bow on top sits at just the right spot without looking awkward.
This was mainly a cosplay makeup test without complex styling. I kept the base makeup relatively fair, pursuing a 2D doll-like translucent look. For eye makeup, large-diameter contacts were used to enlarge the pupils, with eyeliner drawn fairly thick and slightly winged upward at the outer corners. The lower eyelashes were drawn individually with a liquid eyeliner pen, which, paired with the highlighted aegyo sal, made the eyes look exceptionally round and lively. A pinkish blush was applied broadly under the eyes and on the apples of the cheeks for a healthy, adorable flush. The lips were coated with plump, watermelon-red lip tint, creating a fresh, energetic vibe.
For the costume, it features the classic navy blue sailor jacket with a white shirt and a red-and-blue plaid bow tie underneath. Even though it is an older costume, the blazer still maintains a crisp shape. The ribbon was tied slightly tight, requiring a bit of effort to adjust symmetrically. The photos were taken in my bedroom using overhead lighting and some soft natural side light, which brought out bright catchlights in the eyes while softening facial contours. The poses drew inspiration from the character, including resting a chin on the palm, sitting seiza-style, and cupping the face—all classic soft and cute poses.
Although the 7-year-old wig and outfit showed minor signs of age from storage, the overall look came together quite satisfactorily. The main goal this time was testing the makeup and outfit to relive the enthusiasm of back then. With the overall atmosphere captured, the character's portrayal felt very authentic. I look forward to an outdoor cosplay photoshoot in the future, which should create an even better vibe.
