The finished set for this Genshin Impact Raiden Shogun cosplay is finally done! While the memories are still fresh, I wanted to share some behind-the-scenes thoughts with everyone. From receiving the outfit to completing the final shots, fine-tuning so many nuances turned this into an unforgettable shoot.

First, the core of the styling: to capture Raiden Shogun's regal, commanding, and aloof mature woman disposition, we poured significant effort into the hair and makeup. I trimmed the wig multiple times to achieve that smooth, natural drape tinged with sharp definition. For eye makeup, I selected purple-magenta eyeshadow blended with slightly upturned eyeliner to intensify the piercing gaze. Instead of a vivid true red, I opted for a deeper berry lipstick to anchor her imposing presence without aging the look. In terms of attire, this costume boasts remarkable layering: a white crossover collar top paired with pale purple wide sleeves, accented by sheer black mesh arm sleeves and gold-patterned vambraces. The purple printed wide sash layered over dark crimson fabric establishes vibrant contrast. Dressing up required smoothing each layer carefully so every fold fell into its rightful place, largely thanks to my assistant's help.

The location was a studio featuring a pure white cyclorama wall—a minimalist backdrop ideal for keeping the spotlight firmly on the subject. We utilized soft overhead lighting paired with subtle side fills, accentuating facial contours while faithfully capturing the textures and colors of the garments. For props, a vintage wooden armchair and a rich purple cloth with golden stripes draped gracefully across it did the trick. Through this simple arrangement, an intense aura came alive. Sitting on the chair with legs crossed and arms resting naturally on the armrests appeared relaxed, but my core was quietly engaged the entire time to maintain graceful lines.

Regarding emotional expression, I steered clear of broad smiles or dramatic faces. Raiden Shogun's power requires no forced exertion. I simply had to steady my gaze, look straight into the camera lens, and channel the mindset behind that classic line: 'Will you make an enemy of me?' This expression isn't born of anger, but of the effortless composure that accompanies absolute strength. The photographer kept coaching me throughout: shoulders relaxed, back straight, eyes a touch sharper. Vibe came first; each click of the shutter aimed to seize that quintessential character moment. That is the true magic of cosplay—not just donning an outfit, but living another character's journey through posture and gaze.

The shoot lasted several hours. Wearing high heels in such elaborate regalia was exhausting, yet seeing the final frames on the monitor made every second worthwhile. This set preserves the 2D essence while embracing real-world dimensional texture, balancing the character's signature traits with personal style.
