[Momosuzu Nene Cosplay] Hololive Gen 5 Orange Representative: The Otherworld Idol Arrives

I finally have the time to share these Momosuzu Nene cosplay convention photos taken at the Firefly ACG Expo with you all. As the Orange representative of hololive Gen 5, the styling this time mainly focuses on an energetic idol style with rich color impact. In order to better recreate this girl from another world who longs to become an idol, we did a lot of homework on the early-stage makeup, hair, styling, and outfit coordination.

Let's first talk about the details of the head styling. The two energetic double buns on top of my head are paired with soft pink star hair ornaments, which blend beautifully with the pink-and-white gradient of the hair color. Blonde wigs can easily look unnatural, but when trimming the bangs and sideburns, we specifically adjusted the curvature. Coordinated with the green-pupiled eye makeup, it gives a fluffy yet fresh feeling. The eye makeup wasn't done too heavily, but instead emphasized the transition of orange and pink in the upper and lower eyeshadows, which showcases a youthful vibe without making the makeup look too heavy despite the gorgeousness of the stage outfit. The treatment of eyelashes and eyeliner made my gaze look much clearer and brighter, twinkling under the lights—carrying the true agility of a dream-chasing girl.

In terms of restoring the outfit, the layering of this idol stage costume is the greatest highlight of this Cosplay photo sharing session. The large white-edged ruffled collar at the neckline beautifully flatters the face and modifies the proportions of the neck. The massive bow on the chest adopts a color-clashing design: a black base bow, warm yellow ribbons, and an orange-red main body, adorned with a pink button right at the center. This bright color combination perfectly fits the character's positioning as the Orange representative. The black corset at the waist features not only white criss-cross laces but also gold decorative elements on both sides. This little detail prevents the entire outfit from looking too childish, adding a touch of playful chicness. Paired with the layered voluminous skirt spliced in orange and yellow, and the outermost gradient lace transitioning from white to bright pink, the weight of the entire skirt hem is just right—with just a slight movement during the shoot, the skirt can naturally spread out.

On the day of the shoot, the Firefly ACG Expo floor was packed with people. The background was mostly those sci-fi-feeling blue-and-white light corridors and LED grid light stands. To avoid clashing with this clean background, the lighting was deliberately kept highly transparent. In terms of posing guidance, I specifically tried some more active actions. For example, the pose in the picture where I'm putting one hand on my hip and making a V-sign near my face beautifully showcases the waistline, and combined with the yellow wristband on my wrist, it instantly captures that sense of nervousness and anticipation right before stepping onto the stage. There is also an interactive pose with both hands spread wide and my body leaning slightly forward—making it feel as if you behind the screen are the audience below the stage, and I am delivering this joy and energy straight to you. Although there are no complex props in the photos, expression management and body language played a critical role in this showcase, with confident smiles and playful peace signs beautifully conveying the character's traits.

It is worth mentioning that the collaboration with the photographer this time was extremely smooth, and the capture timing was spot-on. For an idol stage costume with rich colors and numerous details, the greatest fear is shooting it without layers, making it look cluttered. But in these photo series, the light and shadow beautifully outlined the garment's silhouette, especially the waist-pinching corset design, which looked exceptionally slim under the transition of light. The gradient layers of the skirt hem were also perfectly recorded. For this Cosplay photo sharing session, the early-stage adjustments of the shoot focused on maintaining color accuracy—preserving color saturation while ensuring a fair and radiant skin tone. The final photos turned out with a very clean, Japanese-style idol photobook feel.

All in all, although wearing such a heavy idol stage costume in a sweltering convention and maintaining high-intensity expressions and postures for a long time indeed drained a lot of physical strength, every time I see my hopeful self in the final photos, I feel that everything was completely worth it. This feeling of bringing a character to life in real life through the combined efforts of makeup, styling, clothing, and photography is exactly what makes cosplay most fascinating.
