Here come the Reimu convention photos from Day 1 of the New Year Firefly ACG Expo! Before coming to the Guangzhou Anime Convention this time, I had already planned to use this red umbrella and fox mask to create a more traditional shrine maiden atmosphere, and the actual results are truly satisfying. The convention venue was very crowded, so I'm really happy we could successfully find a spot to shoot these photos.

This shoot used the Sony A7M5 paired with the 50mm F1.2 GM lens. The large aperture is incredibly powerful in complex exhibition environments, blurring the background into a clean and soft bokeh that fully highlights the character. As for the props, the textures of the paper umbrella's bamboo ribs, the bells, and the rainbow tassels were all captured very clearly, and the facial painting details of the fox mask were also well restored.

The fabric of the costume is actually made of lightweight, breathable gauze and chiffon, topped with a faux-fur collar. Although it's winter, moving around inside the exhibition didn't feel stuffy or hot at all. The wide sleeves fluttered in the wind during dynamic snapshots, creating a graceful and flowing look that I personally adore.

Although running around all day was quite tiring, seeing the contrast between the red and white shrine maiden and the lively hustle and bustle of the convention crowd in the final photos makes everything totally worth it. This Touhou Project Reimu look can be considered a successful milestone check-in, and I look forward to working on other character cosplays next time.
