On the night of the Guangzhou Firefly ACG Expo, I completed this shoot as Ikaros from Heaven's Lost Property under the name Shuanghui cosplay. Thank you to photographer NightDiva for capturing a different Queen of the Sky with a Nikon camera in the nighttime outdoor environment. The look for this photoshoot took a black maid outfit as its main tone, paired with pure white angel feather wings. To make the body closer to Ikaros's synthetic angel texture, we adjusted the makeup to be as translucent as possible, which, combined with the short pink wig and iconic ahoge, really brought out the overall atmosphere.

The most interesting props during the shoot were the square card that looked quite geometric and an unexpected little watermelon. The lighting at the night shoot was actually very complex, relying entirely on the photographer's fill light techniques to highlight the subject against the dark background. For comfort during lying and kneeling postures, we specifically laid a white plush blanket over a protective mat, which not only provided warmth but also gave the image a softer texture. Although the wings were a common feather style, their texture became distinct under the nighttime lights, and the combination of chains and a collar is also a highly recognizable element of Ikaros.

Returning to the character herself, Ikaros has a very contradictory core. The line in the post, "She originally had no heart, yet learned love and pain for you," is actually a very precise summary. From being a combat weapon initially to gradually experiencing human emotions later on, this process also needed to be infused with feeling during the convention. I hoped to convey that sense of innocence and reliance through my eyes and body language. This time at the Firefly ACG Expo, I met many friends who love Heaven's Lost Property. Some asked why I brought a watermelon; it was mostly as a gap-moe contrast and an improvised prop. Amidst a tight convention schedule, being able to set aside an evening like this to quietly complete convention photos focused on character expressions was a deeply fulfilling experience for me.

Maintaining the best state in front of the camera is important, but dealing with intricate outfits and props also requires enough patience to balance the wig and wings. The combination of black stockings and a black-and-white maid dress is a classic anime pairing—bringing a touch of daily life while retaining the character's exclusive traits. Photographer NightDiva is very skilled at capturing naturally flowing expressions, such as tilting the head slightly while holding a card, or the focused feeling when kneeling on the blanket facing the camera. I especially like the final pose leaning forward; it makes the body lines appear smooth while displaying the dynamic aesthetic beauty of the outfit during movement.

All lighting used off-camera flash for fill light, which, combined with the night environment as a natural black backdrop, made the character's colors pop even more. Camera settings were F4 large aperture, 1/200s shutter speed, paired with ISO 64 sensitivity to ensure image clarity and texture. In post-processing, we retained real skin texture without over-editing, striving to present a natural, cool-toned, yet warmly emotional atmosphere. The charm of an anime convention lies not only in meeting like-minded people, but also in being able to briefly experience another character's world in this way. For me, this night at Firefly Expo was the moment belonging to Ikaros's brief landing. No grand narratives needed, just the focus of treating every shutter click seriously. Presenting a complete state to people who love this character is a cosplayer's purest joy.
