[Xiao Yu cosplay] Non-Human bunny girl arrives with a green apple

This Non-Human Xiao Yu cosplay costume is very sophisticated in color matching and detail processing. The overall main colors are light green, white, and brown. The upper body is a sleeveless dress with lace trim and brown criss-cross straps, while the lower body is paired with fluffy bloomers and a petticoat, with a large amount of ruffle design at the edge of the skirt hem. Right in front of the dress is sewn a white animal-face decoration with cross-stitching, and a plush tail is specially added on the back to make the character's look more three-dimensional.
To match this outfit, I specially prepared a giant green apple prop. The surface of this apple model has a high-gloss material, which can reflect a very natural luster under the top light of the convention venue. During the shoot, photographer Langlang suggested I use this apple as the visual center, either holding it in both hands in front of me or turning slightly sideways so the apple blocks part of the body, adding a sense of layering to the frame. To restore the character, I wore a light golden twintails wig, with bunny ear hair ornaments featuring a pink lining and white flowers installed on top of the head, paired with light green colored contacts. The makeup heavily emphasized the clarity of the eye makeup and the glossiness of the lips, striving to fit the character's lively and somewhat quirky temperament.
The shooting location was inside the Mengman Xinghe Exhibition Hall. The top of the venue features a white curved dome structure, and the on-site lighting is very bright, but also relatively complex. To avoid the cluttered crowd in the background, we chose a relatively open area. Langlang utilized natural light shining from the left, forming clear shadows on the ground, making the figures captured look more three-dimensional. Wearing brown knitted leg warmers and wooden platform shoes, walking around the venue actually requires paying a little attention to balance, but for the sake of good results, these are nothing. During the shooting process, I tried different poses. Standing with legs slightly apart, body leaning forward slightly, and hands tightly holding the apple—this posture not only fully displays all the details of the dress, but also makes the body lines appear more relaxed, forming an interesting visual contrast with the giant green apple.
Doing cosplay at a convention site is actually a great test of physical strength. In addition to the weight of the costume and props, one must maintain the character's state amidst the crowds. The waist and corset parts of this costume are tailored very fittingly, which can outline the proportions well, but wearing it for a long time also brings a bit of restriction. During shooting breaks, I would also find a place to rest a bit, adjusting the wig and accessories. Being able to successfully shoot this set of photos this time is inseparable from the photographer's capture of light and grasp of composition. From adjusting the angle of the bunny ears at the very beginning to confirming the height of holding the apple in hand, every detail was repeatedly confirmed. Seeing that the wrinkles of the light green skirt hem and the texture of the brown bows were perfectly recorded in the finished photos, I felt that the early preparation and on-site hard work were all worth it. This Xiao Yu cosplay kind of fulfilled a wish of mine, and I hope these photos can let everyone feel the original cuteness and vitality of the character.
