[Momoka Hanyuu Cosplay] Sweet Girl from Arknights: A Dessert Shop Photoshoot Record

Over the weekend, I found an atmospheric dessert shop in Nanchang to shoot this set of Arknights Momoka Hanyuu cosplay photos. This outfit actually has a lot of details; from the wig styling to the overall outfit, I tried my best to match the energetic yet sweet-cool feel of the original work.

First, regarding the hair, long orange curly hair is a very iconic feature of the character. This time, I deliberately made the hair volume very fluffy. The huge brown bow on top of the head is also a visual focal point; a slightly thick fabric was chosen for its material to support its exaggerated outline, which balances the head-to-body ratio well in combination with the color scheme of the overall look. For the top, a red-and-black plaid fabric was selected, paired with a white collar and a black choker. The dark red rose shape on the chest is an eye-catching design point on the outfit. The metal chain slung diagonally across the waist adds a touch of sharpness, forming a material contrast with the black ruffled hem of the skirt. The brown striped jacket worn over it gives the entire outfit a casual, relaxed feel alongside its sweetness, ensuring it doesn't look too thin.

The shooting venue was chosen at this vintage-style dessert shop in Nanchang. What caught my eye at first was this blue-and-white striped accent wall and the wooden furniture. The warm light tones and the texture of the wooden furniture fit Momoka Hanyuu's lively and warm image very well. The painted floral glass on the window, the small fish tank, and the blue-and-white porcelain style teacups and plates on the table all provided us with great natural props. During the shoot, I deliberately half-sat on a wooden chair, holding a teacup with my head slightly tilted, working with the photographer to capture many natural candid moments. This environment is also perfect for showcasing the character's everyday habit of enjoying a leisurely time in a café.

Since this was a Nanchang mutual photo collaboration, communication with the photographer was very smooth, and we tried different compositions under the warm lighting of the dessert shop. In addition to facial close-ups to capture eye expressions, we also included half-body shots and full-body shots featuring the setting. The scene elements in this shop are very rich, such as the small animal paintings on the wall behind and the striped wallpaper, which, combined with posed movements, easily create a relaxed and lively anime-style photography vibe. Using foreground blurs like the transparent fish tank and teacups also adds richer depth to the images.

In terms of photography equipment, a large-aperture lens was mainly used, which beautifully preserved the light and shadow mood of the dessert shop. The color tone wasn't overly sharpened, leaning toward a soft and comfortable everyday portrait texture. The key to this makeup was a clean and translucent base, paired with orange-toned blush and lip color to echo the hair color as a whole. The wig was also carefully combed before shooting to avoid unnatural frizz. Momoka Hanyuu's character is cheerful and cute, so I stayed as relaxed as possible in my posture, letting myself melt into the lazy and cozy afternoon vibe of the dessert shop. This experience with Nanchang mutual photo collaboration was wonderful; I'll continue to communicate with the photographer on post-production details, and I really look forward to the final results.
