Digging out this set of photos that had been lying in my phone album for a long time, I felt I should post this backlog while organizing things today. For this Albedo outfit, Miaowu's production within the community is indeed very complete, but the moment I put it on, my biggest realization was that the basic male sizing is just too unfriendly to female cosplayers. Although the shoulders on the upper body can be propped up, the excess fabric at the waist and underarms is truly too large, making the whole look lack sleekness. Wearing it really feels like covertly putting on a lab coat. Before the shoot, I was thinking that before taking this outfit out next time, I must definitely find a tailor to do a cosplay costume modification to shrink it by two sizes; even just cinching the waist would elevate the character's crispness by several notches. Another issue is the tattoo sticker, and I'm wondering what kind of material would bring it closer to the original setup. To be honest, the tattoo sticker I brought this time was almost invisible under natural light, and after pairing it with gloves, it looked as if it weren't even applied, completely masked by the costume fabric from afar, which is truly frustrating. Fortunately, the shooting environment and lighting were excellent, slightly compensating for this regret in physical details.

I am extremely satisfied with the set setup for this shoot; the venue was a very warm, old-fashioned study room combined with a laboratory. The wooden bookshelves were neatly packed with various shapes of alchemy bottles and reagent tubes, and the ancient books spread across the desk paired with ink bottles and quill pens, along with several heavy, weathered red-cover hardcover books by the window, maximized the atmosphere. In such an environment, there was no need to deliberately think of poses; one could naturally immerse into that scholar state of being daily obsessed with experiments and studying ancient texts. The angle of resting my chin on my hand while looking at the lens felt very comfortable, bringing out the character's somewhat casual yet academically proud expression for this piece of Vintage scholar style photography.

During the shoot, side-lighting filtered into the room from the window, perfectly outlining the contour of the wig and the three-dimensional feel of the facial makeup. The eye makeup this time intentionally deepened the outer contour, giving the blue-grey pupils a more focused look in the frame. There are actually many small details on the clothing, such as the royal blue neckerchief layered underneath, the collar tag with golden starlight, and those golden lines on the gloves, all of which I carefully inspected and refixed before releasing these Genshin Impact Albedo cosplay photos. Although there were regrets regarding the costume's fit, with the embellishment of these details, the resulting effect still won back a lot of points.

Actually, for the character Albedo in Genshin Impact, aside from his mysterious origins and abundant knowledge, what I love most is his calm demeanor regardless of what unknowns he faces. Therefore, in this set of photos, I intentionally controlled the range of my expressions, without excessive or exaggerated emotions, wanting to express this composure through subtle eye movements and relaxed body language. Of course, this kind of quiet shooting requires great patience from the photographer to capture moments of relaxation. Every time we do this kind of vintage scholar theme, the requirements for the prop masters and set designers are very high; just organizing those bottles and jars took nearly an hour, but seeing the final image in the viewfinder made all the bustling feel entirely worth it. If I were to give some advice for the next shoot, I would probably switch to a more pigmented tattoo sticker or consider drawing alchemy symbols directly on my arm with a body paint pen, which will definitely yield a higher level of restoration. Maintaining this original intention to explore and present, every shoot serves as a re-acquaintance with the character and myself, completing this wonderful session of vintage scholar style photography.
