Shooting this set of photos directly in my gaming room was meant to capture my authentic state when gaming. Instead of staging a complicated set, I used my everyday computer desk, PC chassis with RGB lighting, and gray gaming chair as the ready-made background. To complement the room's cool tones, I chose a classic JK uniform Sailor suit cosplay with a white base and navy collar, tied with a large pink bow tie at the chest, and paired with a navy pleated skirt and pure White stockings on the lower half.

The top has a slightly cropped silhouette; raising an arm high or leaning forward easily reveals the waist. Therefore, during the shoot, I intentionally controlled my range of motion to appear lively without distorting visual proportions due to the garment riding up. White stockings are a double-edged sword under gaming room lighting: the texture is wonderfully delicate, yet even a modest amount of light causes reflections, especially across the thighs and knees. To solve this, I switched off the room's main ceiling light, relying on the monitor glow and chassis fan LEDs as ambient undertones, while placing a low-power softbox diagonally in front of me. Angled soft lighting preserved gradual transitions between fabrics and skin, preventing White stockings from turning into flat, blown-out white highlights. Arranging the pleated skirt also required care: when seated, the pleats flare out naturally; slightly adjusting their direction and spreading the skirt outward visually elongated the legs, adding dramatic tension to this Campus-style photo shoot.

For props, aside from the gaming chair, there was the black gaming controller. Posing naturally with a controller is surprisingly tricky, so I experimented with various grips. For example, turning sideways to look back at the lens, or extending my legs toward the camera to take advantage of wide-angle perspective foreshortening to elongate leg lines. In one shot sitting on the chair sticking out my tongue, I had to watch the screen while balancing the controller in one hand, which proved difficult to balance. Poses like saluting or flashing peace signs also demanded wrist stability, as the controller itself carries weight and holding it suspended single-handedly causes fatigue over time. Later, I simply rested the controller on my lap or loosely held it with both hands, which looked more natural and felt closer to real gameplay. For hand placement, tucking my wrists slightly inward made my hands appear dainty while harmonizing with the outfit.

The hairstyle was simple short black hair accented with two small white hairpins. To give the bangs and side hair dimension, I lowered my head slightly during shots to sculpt facial contours with shadows. The plush toys and anime figures in the background are from my personal collection; though blurred into the backdrop, they infused the scene with genuine domestic warmth and otaku room vibes. The game visuals on the computer monitor also functioned as both a light source and environmental context, preventing the composition from feeling empty. The gaming chair had a tall back with a headrest, so when seated, I had to avoid slouching completely against it—straightening my spine slightly brought out the vibrant energy of an E-sports girl.

The entire shoot was quite physically taxing, as I had to balance reacting to the game screen with maintaining facial expressions. Playing games while being photographed is quite distracting; while the controller served mostly as a prop, holding it was undeniably more natural than empty hands. Midway through, I tried classic gestures like saluting and peace signs, mainly wanting to convey a relaxed, bubbly, and energetic mood. This photo series doesn't rely on heavy visual effects or intensive retouching; it's simply color-graded to recreate the cool-toned gaming room with vivid color accents. Capturing this lively, cozy stay-at-home moment was truly all I needed.
