[Shayol Wei cosplay] Chimelong Summer water play Exclusive: Dungeon Fighter Online Shayol Wei in a Refreshing Poolside photoshoot

This time, we headed straight to the water park at Guangzhou Chimelong to bring everyone an immersive experience of the summer poolside edition of Dungeon Fighter Online's Shayol Wei. A great deal of dedication went into everything from makeup and styling to shooting. The silver wig and Elf ears served as the foundation of the look; to achieve better visual impact by the water, the foundation and eye makeup were switched to ultra-waterproof formulas, remaining flawlessly intact even after soaking in the pool for over half a day.

For the wardrobe, I chose a black halter bandeau as a base layer, covered with a light purple semi-sheer long-sleeved blouse. While this lightweight tulle looks delightfully airy on dry land, once submerged in water, it clings tightly to the skin, adding extra weight and resistance. Consequently, I constantly had to monitor the fabric's position, adjusting it by holding the knotted hem to prevent any awkward wardrobe slips. The lower half was paired with dark denim shorts, accented with buckle harness straps featuring gold geometric motifs around the waist and outer thighs. While these accessories looked undeniably cool on land, soaking in water increased friction considerably, making dynamic motions rather taxing.

Daytime shooting focused primarily inside the water. Due to light refraction from water ripples, I had to keep my eyes wide open underwater while maintaining a steady gaze so my eyes appeared brighter and more spirited in the frame. The hardest part of underwater shooting isn't holding one's breath, but overcoming water buoyancy to control limbs. For instance, posing while tugging at my sheer cover-up required significant force against the water's drag while simultaneously keeping my facial expressions completely controlled—which was genuinely exhausting.

As night fell, the shoot moved to wooden tables and chairs along the shore. The ambient light sources around the nighttime pool were rather complex; although fill lights were placed generously, the hard wooden surface meant that whether kneeling or sitting with crossed legs, my core had to remain firmly engaged. To accentuate leg lines, I went barefoot, letting the soles of my feet touch the wooden surface and open air directly, which felt quite chilly with the night breeze. However, perching on the edge of the table with one leg casually dangling to touch the ground elongated overall visual proportions beautifully, blending with the cool-toned nighttime palette to evoke a serene, aloof mood distinctly different from the daytime.

It must be said that summer at Chimelong is truly tailor-made for Summer water play. The mist lingering in the air paired with the surrounding environment made this shoot go remarkably smoothly. This underwater challenge also helped me accumulate plenty of fresh photography experience. I hope this Poolside photoshoot brings everyone a refreshing splash of summer coolness.
