A lot of thought indeed went into preparing the setting for this Vivian shoot beforehand. The iconic purple-and-white long curly hair, elf ears, and that black feather umbrella with butterfly elements are all core props for restoring the character's temperament. During the shoot, Teacher Yuezhan's control over light and shadow was perfectly on point; the purple-toned setting, gauze curtains, and pure white European-style furniture fully brought out the character's slightly dreamy and detached atmosphere. For the makeup and styling, Teacher Laoshuang handled it very delicately; the combination of red colored lenses and deep purple eyeshadow made the overall makeup look exceptionally clean yet distinctive. The tailoring of the costume is very special—an off-the-shoulder white shirt paired with an asymmetrical black leather skirt hem, and further matched with platform high heels featuring purple strap details, making the overall proportions and sense of layering fantastic. Since it was shot in an indoor real-scene studio, there were many interactive props like birdcages, blooming flowers, a vintage mirror, and that black-and-white checkered floor; every single spot felt as if it brought Vivian's world to life. Several teachers coordinated with great chemistry during the shoot, constantly adjusting the angles of the umbrella surface and the skirt hem to capture the most perfect light and shadow. Personally, I really love the composition of sitting on the vintage leather chair, with an arm naturally leaning by the window; the texture of the light and shadow hitting the hair strands and the skirt hem feels very comfortable. The overall post-processing retained that crisp and sharp quality of the original photos while maintaining the cool yet soft visual look the character ought to have. Although Vivian's own temperament carries a touch of cool detachment and loftiness, the atmosphere during the actual shooting process was very pleasant. Portraying a character with such a unique setup requires paying extra attention to the conveyance of gaze and posture, especially mastering the body language when using that long-handled umbrella as a prop. To ensure the skirt pleats and the umbrella's reflections were perfectly in place, the standing positions were also repeatedly adjusted quite a few times midway. Seeing the final retouched images, I feel that all the styling details and scene interactions were not in vain, and the cool detachment presented in the lens perfectly matches the loftiness and elegance in the character's setting.
