This time, the Cartethyia outdoor shoot captured three completely different scenes, catching the lighting changes and atmospheric contrasts from morning to night. Through this set of photos today, I'll share the specific experience of this shoot with you.
Let's talk about the makeup and wearing experience first. The most prominent styling elements this time are the elf ears cosplay look and the bright blue colored contacts, paired with light golden long braids and small blue feather decorations in between, making the blonde hair and colored contacts cosplay look highly recognizable visually. The wig took some time to braid to ensure it looked natural and not fake, but I am quite satisfied with the final contour and volume. In terms of attire, it features a black, blue, and white spliced style; the leather neck strap at the collar and shoulders combined with metal-textured chains and armbands adds a touch of toughness to the fantasy style outfit. The cut-out design on the upper body and the white stockings on the lower body also consider the character's sense of lightness, avoiding a bloated appearance.
荒The first picture was shot in front of ancient Roman-style stone column ruins. These columns with classical carvings combined with the clear blue sky and white clouds create a very open visual feel. Wanting to highlight the flow of the outfit, I chose a pose where the large area of the blue gradient streamer unfolds with the wind. The blue-and-white outfit shows highly three-dimensional color transitions under ample natural light, and the highlights perfectly outline some golden printed textures on the clothes. The shoot adopted a slightly low-angle perspective to fully capture the height of the stone columns and the sky into the frame, creating an atmosphere of the character descending upon otherworldly ruins.
The second picture shifts to the lakeside green space in the evening. The time was shortly after sunset, and the sky presented a deep azure tone. The light in this scene was relatively soft, forming a contrast with the intense sunlight of the day. A professional fill-light stand was actually set up on the right side of the frame to illuminate the character's facial features and costume details, ensuring the character's outline remained clear in the dim, cool ambient light. I specially chose a white plush carpet to spread on the grass, where a half-lying, half-sitting posture was quite relaxed, with my arm naturally raised to wonderfully showcase the cut and structure of the upper body attire. The background of the lake water, distant city buildings, and the lawn blend together, forming a serene everyday feel on the edge of the city.
The third picture enters full night mode. It utilized a relatively intense direct flash from the front, with the background dissolving into the night, leaving only the faint, scattered light spots from distant streetlights. This minimalist dark background and high-contrast light heavily test the cleanliness of the makeup. The intense light hit the white stockings and the white panels of the outfit, creating a strong reflective luster. Sitting casually on the night grass, the silver anklet and cross-star pendants on my legs created some very delicate visual extensions on the lower body. This hard-light texture brought by the flash is a completely different flavor from the softness of the sunlight during the day, serving as a personalized little experiment to wrap up this set of photos.
Combining these three sets of materials from different lighting and scenes perfectly showcases the expressiveness of the costume under various conditions. For me, the greatest joy of an outdoor cosplay photoshoot is capturing all the possibilities born from the collision of natural light and artificial light sources; every time I grab a satisfying moment, it is an experience worth reminiscing about repeatedly.
