Applying for the Chinese Anime Independent Tour of The 22nd China International Cartoon and Animation Festival. Taking advantage of the good weather these past two days, I re-organized several previously accumulated sets of outdoor and studio photos to directly apply for the cosplayer independent tour.
In terms of the shooting plan, this set of photos actually distinguishes between different lighting preferences and venue characteristics. Some scenes are suitable for hard light to highlight the character's sharp demeanor, while others were chosen for an afternoon with ample natural light, which can present a completely different atmosphere.
The Chinese Anime Independent Tour is an area in the exhibition hall filled with creative passion. If the registration passes, there will be five consecutive days of activities at the Hangzhou Baimahu International Convention and Exhibition Center from June 17 to June 21 this year. Compared to simply visiting the exhibition, the greatest significance of applying for the independent tour lies in being able to participate in the organizer's session planning and integrating one's understanding of the characters into the venue space through outdoor shoots and displays.
Among the five or six pictures submitted, some involve large custom props and uniquely-shaped weapons, which indeed required a lot of physical effort to transport to the shooting location. To ensure a good visual effect during the shoot, the assembly and positioning of the props were repeatedly experimented with several times before departure. At the same time, the light reception of the makeup under the lens was also adjusted, with shadows and highlights appropriately enhanced to ensure a better three-dimensional look directly out of the camera.
The time I applied for registration this time is exactly from June 17 to June 21, running concurrently with the official opening of the animation festival. In addition to preparing the booth and pass credentials, I am also deliberating on the outfit plans during the convention. As one of the most popular anime conventions in the country, having the opportunity to join The 22nd China International Cartoon and Animation Festival as an independent participant is positive feedback for my recent cosplay practices. I believe I will also meet many booth owners and fellow enthusiasts who focus on making props at the event venue, and I plan to save some energy to exchange insights with the craftsmen on-site.
Regarding post-processing, I deliberately retained the real skin texture and ambient light in the photos this time, without excessive skin smoothing or color shifts, aiming to minimize the difference between the actual look and the photo display. The space outside the Baimahu International Convention and Exhibition Center is large, so taking check-in photos there should also turn out great. After organizing the graphic materials at hand, I will submit the application process, and then wait for the organizing committee's review and confirmation.
