[Venti cosplay] An Encounter Between the Wind and Sakura

Went out to shoot cherry blossoms, this time cosplaying Venti from Genshin Impact. After changing into the costume and wig, I spent a little time in the car first. Though the vehicle interior is compact, the light filtering through the window created very even side-lighting across my face—ideal natural light for in-car photography facial close-ups. The wig featured a teal-to-light-blue gradient styled into twin braids; to prevent it from getting messy inside the car, I applied extra styling spray and secured both sides with bobby pins. The outfit was a mint-green dress with ruffled trims and a white bow tie. Before shooting, I adjusted the bow tie's placement so it wouldn't poke my chin when looking down. The makeup featured bright green colored contacts, delicate eye makeup with a subtly lowered outer corner for a softer gaze, and blush placed beneath the eyes and across the cheeks for a healthy glow. Then the shoot began: hugging a light-green plush cushion, biting a small spiral-patterned prop, tilting my head slightly in a relaxed posture, and looking directly into the lens. Close-ups rely heavily on the eyes to convey emotion, making accurate contact lens fitting and meticulous eye makeup essential. After finishing the in-car shots, we headed outside beneath the cherry blossom trees. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom, clustered in pinkish-white blossoms against a cloudless, pristine azure sky. To capture a clean contrast between the floral branches and the sky, we used a low-angle upward shot. It was very windy with petals fluttering down continuously; although we couldn't get a full-body shot with the blossoms, the pink and blue backdrop served as a fitting finale to this set, harmonizing nicely with the mint-green outfit. In post-processing, I mainly unified the color palette, adjusting the white balance slightly cooler to ensure a smooth transition between the dim car interior and the bright outdoor light. While reviewing the photos, I noticed the ends of the wig braids were slightly loose, so I untied and re-braided them. The entire shoot avoided exaggerated sexy poses, relying on facial expressions to capture the relaxed vibe of a spring outing. As the Genshin Impact Venti cosplay shoot drew to a close, we returned to the car as dusk approached; the fading warm light created an even softer ambiance. This Casual cosplay approach serves as a snapshot of everyday life, using minimal props while letting fine details shine. The day was tightly packed, moving from indoor daytime shots to outdoor scenery and finally dusk, making for a truly fulfilling session. This Sakura Photograph set is a dedicated presentation of this green-and-white dress and gradient wig, hoping to interpret the character's carefree nature in my own way. We didn't use excessive post-processing filters, relying primarily on solid makeup and hair fundamentals. Looking up beneath the cherry trees captured the spring atmosphere even better than close-ups, bridging Genshin Impact's world with real-world spring scenery. During in-car photography close-ups, to prevent the composition from looking flat, I deliberately utilized car window reflections to add visual depth—which added some shooting difficulty, but the resulting texture was well worth it. Constant adjustments to my seated posture over a long period left my lower back a bit sore, but having the plush cushion to lean on helped immensely. The framing remained straightforward, emphasizing authentic portrait texture. Recreating Venti centers on fresh color palettes and an effortless state of mind, so great care went into color coordination. Overall, this shoot was a joyful experience, capturing moments that served as both character exploration and a refreshing spring outing.
