[Lauma cosplay] Genshin Impact Lauma Convention Photos Shoot Log

Completing this Lauma cosplay shoot on-site at the anime convention was a truly memorable experience. I decided to portray this character because I fell in love with the color palette and design of the outfit. Starting with the attire itself, the prep work was extensive: the high-saturation blue primary hue paired with white strappings, the intricate, asymmetrical ornamentation at the waist, and the blue wrapped cords around the ankles all required considerable time to adjust for a snug fit. The shoes were clear-heeled high-heeled sandals—standing in them grew tiring over time, but they were essential for capturing the character's refined aura. The deer antlers on the headpiece were relatively lightweight, requiring careful fastening, and the elf ears had to be affixed firmly. To achieve an aloof, ethereal composure, the makeup featured light-blue color contacts, paired with highlighter to accentuate facial depth, with special attention paid to expressive eye contact during the shoot.

The shoot took place indoors at the convention hall, where crowds were thick, backgrounds were cluttered, and harsh overhead lighting forced us to constantly search for workable angles. The photographer found great perspectives for me: the first setup was sitting on the floor with the expansive blue dress hem spread out wide, turning slightly to look back over my shoulder to showcase the dress's contours and the strappy details on the legs—a pose that demanded serious core stability. The second setup utilized a low-angle shot from a tall stool, which elongated the leg proportions while using hand gestures and flowing ribbons from the skirt to introduce dynamic movement. Because of foot traffic on the convention floor, the hem easily caught dust, requiring constant cleaning between shots. In post-processing, the background of the second setup was desaturated to monochrome, allowing the vibrant Blue-themed cosplay outfit to truly pop.
