This Genshin Impact Vodyanitsa shoot was chosen to be in the coastal reef area. Actually, when deciding on this location, I already had a rough expectation of the overall visual effect—water, reefs, wind, paired with this relatively lightweight outfit, which could spark a very special atmosphere. To prevent the wig from flying around wildly in the sea breeze and affecting the shoot, I did a lot of pre-styling work beforehand, using plenty of clips and hairspray to ensure the verdant green long hair still maintained its layering in front of the lens.

There are tons of details in this outfit; the white main color tone combined with plenty of ruffles and tulle makes it very prone to reflecting light and losing details under natural light. Therefore, during the makeup and styling stage, I intentionally deepened the shadows of facial contours to highlight the three-dimensional feel of my facial features, while using cyan-blue-leaning eyeshadow to echo the hair color. The clothing material is very light and thin, offering a great flowing feel under the sea breeze, but it also means the shooting difficulty skyrocketed. To keep the shape of the skirt hem fixed, my assistant had to hold the reflector while also helping to pull the edge of the skirt.

What impressed me the most were those few shots on the reef. Wearing pearl chains on my feet and stepping on the rough reddish-brown rocks actually required a lot of core strength to keep balance. The first picture looks quiet and peaceful, but at that time, the undercurrents beneath my feet were constantly washing over, and with the icy water temperature plus the rough reef, my whole body was in a state of high concentration, trying my best to maintain the character's slightly aloof yet composed posture.

The second shot where the splash hits my face was definitely an unexpected surprise. The camera angle chosen at the time was right on the crest of the wave, and a huge wave crashed straight up, causing me to subconsciously block it with my hand. The photographer captured it extremely quickly, turning it into a "discarded photo repurpose" filled with tension. The splashes partially blocked my vision, but the texture of the water droplets under the strong light was exceptionally good, maximizing the dynamic feel of the entire frame. Although after finishing this set, both I and my clothes were soaked through, and even the anklets were filled with fine sand, seeing the final result made me truly feel that it was all worth it. Every time I bring a virtual character into the real world and combine them with such a wildly natural environment, it is a very interesting attempt. Location shooting tests your ability to handle unexpected situations the most; without the ultimate perfection of studio light control, the feedback given by nature actually gave this shoot a different soul.
